Nope:Β vignette1.wikia.nocookie.net/dβ¦
As shown in the 1995 comic "Winter Wonderland", Gaston has been trying to impress Belle, and the Bimbettes have been trying to Gaston's attention, for a LONG time.

I can see now why they never gave him the time of day.
Bimbettes thought all boys are icky, until they grew up to meet Gaston and fawn over him. That's change for you.

If Gaston's "hunting rabbits," I really hope its not this kind of hunting rabbits (oh, and viewer discretion warning, the image link I'm going to post is not meant for the faint of heart or for kids, as it is pretty graphic. Don't say I didn't warn you):
static2.wikia.nocookie.net/__cβ¦
To explain, this was from the King's Foundation Chinese manga of Biohazard 2 (known as Resident Evil 2 outside Asia), and the character depicted was a younger version of Police Commissioner Brian Irons (the corrupt Raccoon City Police Chief who basically began hunting down many people in his charge, murdering the mayor's daughter, and other depraved acts before meeting a messy end). The reference to Gaston hunting rabbits led me back to this thing. Admittedly, having Gaston act like Elmer Fudd would have been amusing somewhat, so I hope its Fudd and not Irons, to sum it up.

Come to think of it, didn't they actually have a comic that dealt with Belle, Gaston, and the triplets as kids or something? I heard of this on IMDb, but when I asked, no one answered, and the topic is most likely deleted by now.

Only thing I can think of is that there was a Marvel-published Disney's Beauty and the Beast comic that ran for about a dozen issues back in the early 1990s (and BatB themed comics featured in other Disney comics of the time too in magazines like Disney Adventure), I managed to get my hands on a couple of issues and some of those had stories featuring the characters as children but that's all I know of.Β Β Β I scanned couple of them and posted them on my random stuff tumblr last year, this one has young Belle going sledding in a box: taijasinspiration.tumblr.com/pβ¦

That must have been it, as one of the other details about the comic from that IMDb topic was that it took place on a day where it experienced snow.

I personally don't count the comics as canon to the movie BUT that's just me...Β
As for Belle, the village and my personal Head canon.Β
If you listen to the very first "opening number" in the movie, she says "Every day the same since me moved to this poor, provincial town" which leads me to think she and her father moved there (Maybe after the death of her mother?)
If you go and read about Gaston on the Disney Wiki page, it says he has had a thing for her since they were kids SO it only fuels my head canon that: After the death of her mother when she was a child, her father packed them up and moved to the little town where she and Gaston met and the rest is history. XD

I was the guy who added in that bit about Gaston and his knowing Belle since they were kids on Disney Wiki. And actually, that bit was based on one of the comics: Disney Comic Hits 5, more specifically. Like I told DazedDaisiesO-o below, you can read the comic on here: taijasinspiration.tumblr.com/pβ¦
And yeah, I pretty much agree that Belle had indeed moved to the village, as the lyrics made that pretty clear. It doesn't make clear WHEN exactly she moved, though considering how Belle seemed to have fully been aware of the village schedule, it pretty much had to be a fairly long while back, and certainly not recent anyway.

As I said, it's just my little head canon based on the song. Glad to see I'm not the only one with these thoughts and theories lol.

They have come somewhat close to what you wish. I know thanks to TaijaVigilia that Disney Comic Hits 5 had a flashback of Belle sledding down a slope with Gaston and the triplets as kids, with Belle usingΒ a box for a sled. And then there's the Disney Comics serial, which was set a few years before the events of the film. Personally, I disliked the first issue's Belle segment, considering it basically made Belle out to be as bad as Gaston during that time regarding shabby treatment of the opposite gender (when her father told her to play outside and encouraged her that those boys may become shining knights of armor, she basically implied that she viewed all men as being no different from pigs. What's worse is that, Maurice joking to Pierre the pig about their having "not an ounce of difference between [them]" aside, there was absolutely no showing of Belle actually realizing the folly of that view. I honestly have no idea what the writer of that comic was even thinking by basically giving the implication that misandry was even a good thing. That issue already made my current distrust of Belle even worse, to be honest.). Thankfully, the second issue didn't have Belle making such a crass implication about us males, although her basically dismissing superstition was still somewhat of a lowpoint especially considering how since the Age of Enlightenment the term "superstitious" was falsely ascribed to us Christians by Atheists/Agnostics/Skeptics/Deists, and it doesn't help matters much that the film series was set during the leadup to the French Revolution. On a related note, the Disney Comics'Β firstΒ issueΒ featured triplet girls that were slightly similar to the Bimbettes (normally, I'd use triplets for them on areas outside the wiki, but since there are two sets, I'm giving the official name so as to avoid confusion), but they had some telltale differences that indicated they were not them: They had ginger hair and freckles, while the Bimbettes were blonde and clear-skinned; one of the sisters had a purple dress on instead of a green dress like the Bimbettes while otherwise having a similar color scheme; and, probably more blatantly telling,Β the triplets in question were obviously much younger than Belle, or at least much shorter (the triplets' size would indicate they were six or eight, while Belle's size pretty obviously indicated that she was a teenager, early to mid-teens as she towered over them and the pirates-playing boys), while the Bimbettes were closer to Belle's age, or at least were close to Belle's height. You can read the comic here:

As well as the second issue here:

You can find the Disney Comic Hits bit on Vigilia's Tumblr account, as well.
