Kouga, for the fangirls *laughs* especially Kogas-Girl because she makes me laughs. ^_^ Anywho this is an old pic because the stuff I'm working on now is taking too long. The ref pic is from the manga somewhere but this was drawn so long ago that I forgot which one.Related content

This is pretty much an exact replication (except the lack of claws).

Still, I noticed that Rumiko Takahasi's style is hard for me to emulate...Any tips?

Hmmm, well I've noticed that the way she does eyes is rather distinctive. The outlines tend to be pretty solid and the lashes thicker (she doesn't do those wispy shoujo lashes). She also uses the same head style for nearly all her characters. The chin is pointed, the face short, and the cheekbones are pronounced.
Practice a lot! I think she was the first anime/manga artist that I actively tried to emulate. Sketching a couple heads a day really helped me and now her characters are some of the easiest for me to draw. ^_^

I attempting to draw one of the insert pages from the manga; a picture of Ranma as a female surrounded by cherry blossoms.
I think it's pretty good, and I've spent days trying to make it look perfect.

I love her style though, and I can't wait to be able to just draw her characters without references.

Oh, you'd love him! He loves his fans and tries to remember everyone. He met my husband the year before and after talking for a couple minutes started to remember things. That really impressed me. If you ever see a con where Scott McNeil is going to be at, do your best to get there. You won't be disappointed!
