Description Okay this took me a while to finish.
I always wanted to draw a scene like this.
Working on my background skills.
This piece was entirely made on Photoshop and Flash (inking).
Sheela (from the Sacred Blood comic) and her pet cat taking a rest up in the trees. Details can be found here [link]

to *tamaraR ,
this is would be the first time I write a critic so excuse if it doesn't sound professional.

So first of all, the background really looks nice with all the details and such. but the bunch of leaves in the top right part looks more like moss because it lacked details. it got me thinking you got lazy in that part.*don't worry, i do that a lote.deviantart.net/emoticons/x/x… " width="15" height="15" alt="" title="XD"/>*

also, i would question the feet anatomy. a lot of artists have problems with that but it never hurts to practice.

anyways, the sky looks great*the clouds look awesome it has a light feathery feel into it* and the big cat *I'm not sure what species it is* looks good *the anatomy is great and nice blue eyes!*. but the fur could use a bit more texture effect to make it look more real *this includes a wood texture for the branches*

all in all, it's an awesome pic.^^

I like the colours on the trees and leaves. Overall, you've got really nice colour-choices on this one.

Question - did you sketch out the characters first and then the background? I'm asking because while it's nicely coloured and inked, the characters (especially the large cat) look a bit disconnected from the background; it looks as if the cat is lying on a flat surface, even though the branch obviously curves beneath it.

And it's inked in Flash? That's pretty interesting - I've got friends who do that too, and the lines always come out very clean (obviously, since Flash is vector-based >.>). Is it fun? Simpler than Photoshop? Any particular reason you use Flash?

Good luck working on your background skills! I need to do that too.... >.>

I made the whole piece completely on the computer. But I sketched out the characters first. So yeah I did have some trouble with that branch .
Flash is absolutely wonderful for inking. I have a very shaky hand and I can't get the inking right on programs like Adobe Photoshop. The lines automatically correct themselves to look fluid instead of making the shaky movements that I do with my hand. It's a lot more fun, simpler and it looks way better. So far Flash is the only program I achieved this effect with. I got to know about the technique from [link]
And Thank you. I will continue to work hard and improve. Thanks for the elaborate comment. I really appreciate it.

Hey, that's you in the picture! Lol. This must've taken forever to get all those leaves. Not my favorite style but I like it anyway.

It's my dark-skinned alter ego Sheela from my comic Sacred Blood. Yeah it's very anime. Actually most ppl like my other styles better but I like this style as well. The leaves I achieved with a special brush. But yes it still took me a while to make. But I don't mind. I enjoy that sort of thing.
