Description
The only specification I had was the word "ocean" and I seized upon the opportunity to paint mermaids. I designed it keeping in mind the current tragic conditions of our earth's dying oceans, thus the dark somber tone.Thanks to ~Sinned-angel-stock for stock photo reference:

The seahorse is a really nice touch... to have something so small symbolize the inconceivably vast ocean...

This is lovely! The mermaids do look very sad but they're still captivating! The one in front looks just as fascinated with that seahorse as we are with her!

Yes and with the oil spills it is heart breaking. I heard the great barrior reef was dying off again in Australia. This is perfect to depict a sad ocean.
