Description I grew up in Odessa TX. And went to schools with a heavy Hispanic population. For the most part I was an outcast being Hispanic myself but being raised by NON- Hispanic parents.
But it didn’t stop me from observing the students around me.

One thing I observed the most was that if there was even the slightest artistic ability in any of my class mates no matter how crude, they always drew the same set number of subjects.

Basically if you were any kind of Hispanic with any kind of drawing skill you drew one or more of the following:

Chickas in sombreros or bullet slings
Laugh now, cry later faces/ girls/clowns
Wicked clowns
Chollos or vatos
Roses and banners
Aztec warriors, temples, women
Big cats, golden eagles, snakes Peacocks, ect...

Go pick up any issue of low rider art and you'll see it all.
I'm sure many of you will know what I'm talking about.

At the time I didn’t understand it. But fast-forward a few years later to New Jersey. After not having seen it in so long I found and old low rider art mag I had bought back in school. I was captivated by the rediscovery.
And decided to make this cultural art form my new subject. "Respect Your Culture" is more of a tongue in cheek homage than anything else really.

But all in all I hope ya'll enjoy it!

Yes ma'am I did.
I was still at a high learning point with the program while working on this illustration.
ChupaChup forced me to really dive into problem solving. The work that ends up teaching me something is one I hold close.

This is lovely. Typically I can't stand self-proclaimed "vector artists" but you take advantage of the medium well.

Hope to see more of your work!

Thankyou!
I havent run into many self proclaimed vector artists. whats the annoyence with em? or are you talking about the ones that download a screen cap of an anime and vector trace it than exlaime "lookit what I did!"
I try not to self proclaime anything unless I'm confident I've made that form my bitch. There is always some better out there.

By tonight I should have a full gallery, see ya round!

Haha yes, those are the ones I'm thinking of.

I'd say that you've done a pretty good job of making vector art your bitch, haha.
