Description 110918-A-VB845-253

U.S. Army Capt. Rader plays a game with an Afghan boy at the District Center in Spin Boldak City,
Kandahar Province, Afghanistan, Sep. 18, 2011. Capt. Rader was the medic attached to the 504th
Battlefield Support Brigade to aid the Female Engagement Team in treating local women and children's
minor ailments. (U.S. Army photo by Spc. Kristina Truluck/Released)

How to find a dad: release a male into an area choked with children. Watch as a seemingly rigid military
officer flowers into a giggling fool playing peek-a-boo and tag.

My military imagery is available for public domain. As the photographer, I don't have control over
how you may use it, but I ask that it be done with respect to the individuals represented here.

I always love this picture, makes me smile like a damn fool each time. XD I've never been in the military but my family has long times back to World War 2. Every soldier out there, then and now has both my respects and my thanks. :3

Ah man I remember the kids running towards us when I was in Afghanistan and Iraq, I was USMC, 2/1, the best feeling to have them rush towards you with smiles on their faces. Cute kids.

Visiting the kids was definitely a highlight during my deployment, too. Β It's amazing how excited they'd get over pens and paper in addition to all the junk food. Β

Heh. Aw man. I always made sure to bring something for the kids. This one time, I got a care package from home, and it had food. Like ravioli, alot of stuff that was non-perishable.

I've seen videos of our soldiers dancing with children, playing soccer with their children, and candy-giving. But this is...something else...Β
How did the Captain feel about this photo?

I kind of wish that this was at an angle such that I could have seen the child's expression--but that being said, this is an adorable photo that just makes my heart melt into a puddle of goo. And I'm not just saying that because I'm a military wife!

I know it was a abrasive thing to say but I could not help my self, it was in humor that I wrote it, not malice. Just take it for what it is (at least to me) Funny. I cant help your interpretation of my humor.
