I haven't been too happy with my 70-200mm lens in this arena. It doesn't get as close as I'd like, even with the 1.4x extender. Google didn't really give me any good results, so I decided to take the testing into my own hands. The 100-400mm variable aperture lens was fantastic, if a little stiff in the zoom ring. If I had the funds, it would definitely be going into my toolkit. Read the blog post here.
