After drawing the other two main boys of my story Joruri for the Radiant Sun, it's finally time I draw the hero himself, Akito Tachibana! I can't believe it's been years since I've drawn him lmfao. I swear, I can't thank Bowser's Castle enough for inspiring me to draw these lads again. Bless.

Anyway, Akito Tachibana (Kanji: 橘明人) is the main protagonist of Joruri and a very important lore character to the overall universe takes place in. Akito is famous for being a legendary hero among is people and for being the last human Silva (think of a nature spirit as a close enough equivalent) in not just his own country but the entire world of Spirala. In his home country of Pekura, Akito is worshiped and remembered as a legendary hero chosen by the Gods (though his existence was actually more or less a mighty fine coincidence/accident and not something actually planned by the divine LOL).

He is remembered by many names, those of which include: The Divine One, The Golden Prince, and the Undying Hero.

Numerous ballads, plays, poems, etc. have been written about the wondrous yet tragic life he lived. Akito was born from a flower that sprouted on the corpse of a much beloved but deceased prince (I use this term loosely) by the same name. Although he was no bigger than the size of a thumb as a baby, he grew to be an incredibly handsome and regular-sized man with unusual golden hair and shimmering emerald eyes. Ichirou Wakahisa (son of the exiled Pekuran Emperor), was born around the same time as Akito. Both young men grew up together in exile to escape the oppression of the Lingpi Empire that had conquered their country. Their unbreakable bond and natural affinity for one another made people believe they were connected in a deep spiritual level--and they were correct! (I explain this in Ichirou's profile, so click on the thumbnail to see what I mean by this lol)

Akito would train with Ichirou to become a skilled yet fearsome swordsman. Once both young men had reached adulthood (around 21 y/o), the two set off on a journey to the fabled mythical land of Ara that Akito claimed was calling for him. Along the way, they meet the incredibly beautiful Sagisou Kaoru ( ) who Akito grows very fond of and insists on taking with them. While traveling, he takes on the alias Hisao (kanji: 奄雄)

From thereon, the story is pretty simple (at least as it is told in his country). Akito gets in touch with the gods, becomes basically a demigod, and returns to Pekura with Ichirou and Kaoru to liberate Pekura from the Lingpi Empire. This is where his heroism, however, reaches its peak. . .

Some years later, after the birth of Akito's son that he had with his wife, Kyouka ( ), he goes of on yet another pilgrimage which, to put it simply, ends pretty badly for him. I still need to rework the details on this part (since I changed the lore a lot) but just know it results in him meeting a grisly yet honorable end by the blade of his own sword (and Ichirou beheading him, as is the proper method of ritual suicide used by IRL samurai for all you who are not aware. )

But fear not, for he actually returns AGAIN as his own descendant:
Now do you see why they call him the Undying Hero? XD.

In Joruri I explore his story from his perspective. Many of the stories told about him in the lore are romanticized, so we will get to see how it REALLY went down in his book.
