Description
This character is inspired by a pretty badass lucid dream I had about a knight slaying a dragon. . . with a twist. Lazy coloring is lazy because this is just concept art. I'm also not that experienced at drawing dragons, so forgive me if anything looks wonky lol. I don't have a picture up yet of his human form, but I kind of wanted him to still be "handsome" despite no longer being human. I'm not sure if I was able to pull it off though since, again, I'm not used to drawing non-humans.

Steinar Torgrimsson was a knight from the Kingdom of Etherrath (a fictional kingdom in my alternative Earth setting). His arch-nemesis was a demonic dragon by the name of Pagona ( ). Long story short, Pagona kidnapped the love of his life, Lady Liliana, and then transformed her into a weredragon (without any freewill) then had her do battle with Steinar, tricking him into thinking he was actually killing Pagona (since they looked so similar in dragon form). Steinar landed a fatal blow to Liliana's chest, but just before all the life drained out of her, Pagona (who had been watching in secret), removed the curse from the princess so that Steinar could see his one true love die in his arms. The overwhelming grief of losing Liliana to his own blade only strengthened his resolve to slay Pagona.

With an enchanted two-handed sword and suit of armor, he embarked on a quest to hunt her down. When at last he found her lair, he did battle with her until he managed to strike her in the heart. The battle had caused his armor to break, leaving his own upper body vulnerable. Pagona noticed this and, with the last of her strength, stabbed Steinar in the back right through his heart with the needle-like tip of her tail. A burning pain erupted from the wound, causing him to scream in agony and eventually pass out.

He awoke dazed and confused. Surely such a blow would have killed him . . . but it didn't. Instead, he found that he was no longer a man but a massive red dragon. This concept art is supposed to be him shortly after waking up and realizing he has been transformed. Admittedly, I found it a bit difficult to convey his shock very well through his face since I'm still not used to drawing non-human heads.

He's also pretty much stuck like this until he gets his sword upgraded to return him back to a human form.

Why did Pagona do this to him? Well, several reasons. 1.) She was determined not to let her kind (not all dragonkind, just her specific flight/clan/whatever) die out, so she turned him (the only person nearby lol) to become one. 2.) She also wanted to troll him. He hated her kind and was determined to not just stop with her, so she thought it'd be pretty damn lulzy to turn him into a dragon so he could suffer. Isn't she just one lovely girl? LOL
