This is the first concept sketch of a new race, the Kiwikids. These are small flightless bird creatures with sharp porcupine-like quills over their bodies instead of feathers. They also have sharp beaks tat secrete a necrotizing toxin, which they use to swarm and peck enemies.
These cute little critters are tribal and somewhat simple by nature, and so they tend to gravitate naturally toward the charismatic leadership and protection offered by the Aradatai. It's sort of a symbiotic relationship; the Kiwikids fetch food, alchemical ingredients, and other items for the reclusive Aradatai, and the Aradatai provide protection and shiny unusual baubles to entertain the Kiwikids.
The small seeds the Kiwikids carry, by the way, are net-seeds. When thrown, they explode into a large snaring net for capturing prey, allowing the Kiwikids to swarm and peck it to death.
