Description This has been a very long time coming... well, not for the art itself, I had that done almost 3 months ago.. I just hadn't gotten around to uploading it..

This is a one-page comic I had made from my brother's 23rd birthday this year.
He has this habit of spacing out, and yet.. he's a pilot?
Seriously.. scary!!
He said he would take me for a fly.. but I'm not sure if I'm brave enough..

Also this was a chance to draw him as a pony!!

How is it possible to wear a parachute upside down?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

TarriPup In reply to Digolgrin [2010-04-13 02:23:58 +0000 UTC]

By having the top of the parachute bag towards the ground and the bottom part of the parachute bag up.

If you mean how is it possible to have the parachute itself upside down once it's deployed, then it just doesn't happen that way - this is meant to make no sense~

Digolgrin In reply to TarriPup [2010-04-14 01:33:14 +0000 UTC]

Well, that's feasible, but wouldn't you have known you had it on upside down because the blue on the bottom of the harness has to be on the top?

TarriPup In reply to Digolgrin [2010-04-14 03:49:25 +0000 UTC]

Probably, but that isn't the point!
The whole point of it is meant to be silly!!

Digolgrin In reply to TarriPup [2010-04-15 01:57:10 +0000 UTC]

Okay, why're you skydiving if you were dumb enough to put your parachute on upside down?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

TarriPup In reply to Digolgrin [2010-04-15 03:59:37 +0000 UTC]

I'm not skydiving.. why do you think it's me?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Digolgrin In reply to TarriPup [2010-04-16 00:32:19 +0000 UTC]

Wait, if that's not you then who's the skydiving horse here?

TarriPup In reply to Digolgrin [2010-04-16 03:25:23 +0000 UTC]

He's just a random pony..
I'm not in that comic page..

So Justin's a pilot at a skydiving airport?

TarriPup In reply to Digolgrin [2010-04-16 22:51:47 +0000 UTC]

Yup. You pretty much got that figured.
Although he doesn't work from Haruru Falls anymore, he's gone live and work in Queenstown.

Digolgrin In reply to TarriPup [2010-04-17 02:18:14 +0000 UTC]

Don't think you can tell, only thign that gives a sense of anywhere in that pic is the sky. (No hard feelings. I know that's what you intended)

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

TarriPup In reply to Digolgrin [2010-04-17 02:24:12 +0000 UTC]

Lol well.. HE knows what it's supposed to be and where..
And that really was the whole point.
Although despite being where he worked, the scene could very well be universal - provided it was on earth and not beyond the stars in the universe..

Digolgrin In reply to TarriPup [2010-04-17 22:19:29 +0000 UTC]

I getcha. How is that skydiving pony gonna get down from his predicament without going splat?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

TarriPup In reply to Digolgrin [2010-04-17 22:59:33 +0000 UTC]

He isn't.
He will never reach the ground. It's supposed to be something that makes no sense, so because his parachute is on upside-down, it opened beneath him, so by the laws of things that make no sense and are completely ridiculous, he is not floating down to earth - he is floating UP, therefore vanishes and is never seen again.

That is why when he opened the chute, he whooshed UP past the plane, and why he is ascending, not descending.
And that is why the page is called "2 x Space" (two times space, as in, Space multiplied by 2) - because for one, that sky diving pony is floating UP towards space, and two, my brother ends up spacing out.

Lol, spacing out can really come at the wrong time xD i do it too... my friend's worse tho. Once she forgot to breathe in almost 1½ minutes xD

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

TarriPup In reply to ManekinekoNoHime [2009-09-15 21:27:14 +0000 UTC]

Wow really? Actually forgot to breathe?
With my brother it just freaks other people out because it looks like he's staring at them like that..

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

ManekinekoNoHime In reply to TarriPup [2009-09-16 08:14:34 +0000 UTC]

Yup, she forgot to breathe... xD
I really don't understand how that's even possible xD

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

TarriPup In reply to ManekinekoNoHime [2009-09-16 20:34:39 +0000 UTC]

Well.. I guess people get that sometimes...
I mean I've had it before where I would be just there, then I suddenly realise I haven't breathed for a little while..

ManekinekoNoHime In reply to TarriPup [2009-09-17 15:16:27 +0000 UTC]

well, yeah, me too... but for 1½ minute? that's rather insane xD good lungs...

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

TarriPup In reply to ManekinekoNoHime [2009-09-17 20:48:44 +0000 UTC]

I think it also depends on what you are doing at the time. If you are like really relaxed, you wouldn't need as much oxygen, would you?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

ManekinekoNoHime In reply to TarriPup [2009-09-18 14:02:39 +0000 UTC]

maybe not *thinks* I guess you're right xD

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

TarriPup In reply to ManekinekoNoHime [2009-09-19 07:27:59 +0000 UTC]

Hehe~
I mean think about it.. if you begin to move alot, you start to breathe more, don't you?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

ManekinekoNoHime In reply to TarriPup [2009-09-19 09:17:19 +0000 UTC]

Well yeah, that's true. You're smart xD ("s-m-r-t!" xD) and the more you talk, too. If you just sit quietly, you don't have t breathe as much either.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

TarriPup In reply to ManekinekoNoHime [2009-09-20 21:59:24 +0000 UTC]

Well you actually have to use air to create the proper vocal sounds to speak, right?
So it involves constant moving of air..

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

ManekinekoNoHime In reply to TarriPup [2009-09-21 07:44:38 +0000 UTC]

yup... so if you shut up completely you should be able to hold your breath for longer. gotta try some day... I'd love to be able to hold my breath under water for longer.
I envy some people that can blow out air and draw in air at the same time. it's cool. I think that's how aboriginals can play the digeridoo for so long...? X'3

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

TarriPup In reply to ManekinekoNoHime [2009-09-21 22:03:38 +0000 UTC]

Yeah.. just don't over-try to hold it..
Well practice DOES make perfect.. what if like you while in the bath or at a pool hold your breath underwater for as long as you can and time yourself, and do that often, always trying to beat your previous record?

Yeah I know.. I've tried doing that, but I can't..

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

ManekinekoNoHime In reply to TarriPup [2009-09-22 08:41:02 +0000 UTC]

I used to do that as a competition with my friends and I always won. but that was such a long time... I should give it a go again. haven't had a swim in a pool or lake for years almost. I just shower nowadays. despite the fact that we have a bathtub.
