I just realized that I never did post any of these wonderful pictures up here...Anyway, I did a photoshoot over the summer with Nivi, and she took these wonderful pictures of my Kafei costume. <3

I saw all your shots on Cosplay.com. I love the picture Leave the Past Behind. I think thats what it was called... but the Keaton mask was in the grass and Kafei walked away from the past- basically. And the sun beaming in another shot into the camera was a pretty awesome effect! Im currently finding materials to make that mask now.

When it comes to the mask, ultra-light sculpey is your friend, as is a lot of sandpaper.
I actually made a cast of my face with that plaster wrap stuff that you buy at craft stores, then covered that with aluminum foil, and then did the sculpey over it. That way I could remove the sculpey mask from the plaster after and it would fit my face just right. I thought that was a genius idea, to be honest. I just attach it to my face with some stretchy clear jewlery line stuff. It tends to hurt after a while, but it works. (also, the ears are made of rolled paper that is glued to the mask. sssh... don't tell.)
Uh... I have found that wigs with both blue and purple fibers look better than just straight purple. I'd give you the link to the wig I bought, but I still can't find it, which makes me sad.
Also, I found it helpful to make a sort of "stamp" for the little designs on the pants/shorts. Made the process faster. But looking to see how far apart the designs were wasn't something I thought about, so it bugs me that they don't touch like they are supposed to.
I think that's all I can think of in terms of tips....

I did get it on ebay, and i believe it was from the seller "Professional Only"
However, each time I go check, I can never find it! I continue to keep my eye out for it, though.

It's purple with a bit of blue fiber as well. Its very, very pretty up close.

I really like the detail that I can see. The only criticism I'd have, is that it seems like the keaton mask's snout should be longer and more vulpine.

Its styled like that. My wig head was just the right height that I could lay the hair on the ground and hairsprayed it so that it would stay flipped up.
