Well i totaly rushed through this one on purpose---i wanted the messy look, simmular to buuzen's work. [link]

Well this is Natsume Maya from Tenjho Tenge.
I've noticed that i havent done fanart in a while --- more like forever---- ^_^;
So i drew her. ^_^ I also chopped most of her hair off too ^_^

Well, this was actually a random sketch. I wasnt planning on drawing her.
I thought it looked like a tenjho tenge character, so i decieded to say that this is a short haired maya.
It really isnt her.
I dont know the seires that well anyways. I've only seen ep. 1-2 and 14-17..

Yea, i've known buuzen since he had his 'Lazy' web page. It had all his sketches from about 3-4 years ago. They were just wonderful, and he draws lots of hentai. hehe XD

you have to imagine that these characters are females, females give birth right? they carry babies, try to draw females that conform to real human anatomy, but feck, this is anime, anything goes. maybe its the proportions that are making me iffy here, aya's breasts are understandably big but something seems out of proportion and the hip/pelvic region caught my eye fast

All right, never mind the boob recommendation I made in my last comment. It looks like you've got the hang of it now... Yes indeed. That's a nice, clean drawing, and I like the pose and the wind. I prefer your CG style, but this works well, too.

No problem! I like to have multiple styles at my disposal, too. I have my standard CG style, but I also recently taught myself a painter style, and I can screentone when manga calls for it.

It's really just a matter of filling in selections with patterns instead of the foreground color, (set the paint bucket's mode to multiply so only the black shows through, not the white, of course) but the catch is, you have to make those patterns yourself. I learned how to make those patterns here: Check Tentopet's Toning Tutorial at this site: [link] (You may have to register to see them, though, but it will be worth the time, and there's also a speed lines tutorial, as shown in my avatar)
The thing that I really like about screentones is, you don't have to waste time picking the right colors for shadows and higlights; all you have to do is set the tones down over the flat base color. It gets the job done quickly when you can just keep switching between lassos and the paint bucket with L and K as hotkeys, only taking extra clicks with the mouse to change the tone once in a while.
