One of these things is not like the others...Thanks to , I just got the exclusive Bumblebee vs. Starscream toy set. Starscream is so very purple- not just purple, but pinky purple. He looks much more at home with my small stable of My Little Pony toys than the army Transformers figures. I don't know who thought this color scheme was a good idea, but God bless them for I love it!
Someone explain to me why Starscream's plume is on a hinge? I can swivel it back and forth for no apparent reason. First Edition Starscream's plume doesn't have this feature. (It is also made of harder plastic than the FE Starscream, which means you can poke your eye out on him.)
This set also comes with action figures of Silas and a random Mech mook. Someone explain to me the justice of a world in which there is a figure of Silas yet no Sari Sumdac?

He probably raided a store on Equestria for parts. I don't know if you're following TFP, but Starscream is a desperate and saaaaad little bird. TFA Starscream would be ashamed.
A little. I got the Celestia/Luna set in December and the Twilight Sparkle Happy Meal toy and blind bag ponies about a month or two ago. I'll probably get the Nightmare Moon toy and stop after that.

first edition starscream's plume is on a hinge too. Its so it can tuck into the head and not get caught or bent when it stores away in vehicle mode.

If it is, then mine's jammed. I can see the indentation for the hinge, but the plume won't budge (and I'm loathe to force it for fear it will break or deform). That reason makes sense.
Hasbro seems to only make human figures of the terrible characters. Want Sam Witwhicky, LeBouf edition? No problem! Sari Sumdac? Somewhere a Hasbro executive is laughing at our pain.

Starscream was just hanging with the ponies for the photo. But I do have a much larger Princess Celestia who stands above my Transformers collection. She casts a wary eye down upon them, forever warning, "Do not make me come down there."

I need the deluxe Knockout (and I know I want the Cyberverse Knockout, too) and the Voyager Prime Starscream (because I've decided he's sufficiently different from the First Edition to merit it) and I'm very much looking forward to the release of Generations Shockwave and War for Cybertron Starscream.

I'm on the fence about Nightmare Moon, but I'll probably see her and decide she's so cool, I have to have her! However, I've gotten so used to pink Celestias that a show-accurate one now looks bizarre to me. I'm skipping white Celestia. (On a non-Hasbro note, I want Tali and Legion whenever the "Mass Effect 2" action figures come out and whenever Mattel coughs up some "Green Lantern: the Animated Series" toys, I'm really, really hoping Razer will be one of them.)

I haven't heard anything about Korra toys. I'd be surprised if there wasn't some merchandise, but I don't think the initial A:tLa toys did that well. Of course, that might have a lot to do with Mattel just spitting out multiple versions of Aang and Zuko with no Kataras whatsoever.

There's no time for an episode like that! Those events should have been broken up and interspersed within other episodes, which is how Aang and Katara's relationship was handled. There were scenes and plot points that may have focused solely on them, but never an entire episode of nothing but shipping material. And the timing was terrible- right after that big jolt at the end of episode four? You really think I give a shit about Korra and Mako dancing around each other after that?

My reaction wasn't anger, just a exceedingly bored annoyance. This is the episode you give us after the horrors of episode four? To say it's jarring is putting it mildly. And there hasn't been enough time or development for me to care about this love triangle. While they sit there acting like this is the most important thing in their lives, all I can think is that they all practically just fucking met. An episode like this later on in the season or even in season two? Yeah, I'll buy that. But episode FIVE? No, sorry guys.

Exactly. I feel a little frustrated that so much attention has been given to Bolin and Mako but not Tenzin. The only thing that makes them important so far is that they know Korra. In a sense, that's okay- by knowing Korra they will naturally become more and more involved in her life and become increasingly plot-relevant. But, seriously, they haven't reached that point yet and it's frustrating when here we have Tenzin, who is one of the last airbenders and whose personality makes me wonder if he doesn't feel some interesting interior conflict because of that, plus, yanno, he was Aang's son- Tenzin might not be so interesting to Korra, but he is far more interesting to me and I really thought the series would focus on him more. I hope that's coming.

I really want to see more Tenzin. He's one of the best written characters thus far, and his scenes are a thousand times more interesting than the love triangle BS. There are just so many more entertaining things they could be focussing on. At the very least, I'm praying this episode was an anomaly, and future episodes will put more focus back on the actual plot.
On a different tangent, I had a thought last night concerning the RP. Will Starscream do anything regarding Galvy's invasion of Cybertron or will he just sit back and watch, assuming he'll fail?

You're right, it's really too soon into "Legend of Korra's" run to say if this is a problem with the series or just one fluky episode. I won't say that shows shouldn't have romance because, hey, shipper here. I won't say that a show like this has so much other stuff going on that it shouldn't bother with romance, although I sometimes feel like that- however, then I remember Sokka and all his love interests and how that added to A:tLA. The problem is that most romance in A:tLA was not handled well. Zuko and Mai didn't get enough development, which made it feel awkward and Aang and Katara felt rather forced. (And whatever happened to Toph's crush on Sokka? Did she just get over it?) It makes me not have much faith in any potential romantic plot lines for "Legend of Korra".
Starscream will probably do something. Galvatron's threatening Nightwail, after all.
