Damien wipes his hands as he leaves his kitchen. Suddenly, as he stares at his hand, his vision starts to blur. A flash goes through his mind...

A place. A lonely, cold place. A small place. The inside of a glass container filled with red liquid. From which could be seen... A laboratory. Damien's lab. A figure walks up to the glass and peers inside... Damien. He speaks.

Damien: Goodnight little guy.

Then, he leaves. The lights go dark, then, silence. Cold, dark, silence.

Suddenly... RING!

Damien's vision returns with the sound of his doorbell ringing. He shakes his head and snaps back to reality. His breath heavy, he looks around the kitchen. With a hand on his head, he walks to the door and, after a pause, he opens it. Before him stands Amanda in a gray cotton jacket.

Amanda: Hi.

Damien: ...Hi.

Amanda: You o.k?

Damien: Me? Oh, I'm fine. Fine... Oh, come in.

Amanda steps in.

Damien: Here, let me take your jacket.

Amanda: Nice place. You decorate this yourself?

Damien: Yep.

Damien takes her jacket. Amanda is wearing a sleeveless brown top with a white collar and beige pants.

Amanda: Mmmm... homey. I like this.

Damien: Thanks. Dinner will be ready in a minute.

Damien shakes the cobwebs out of his head as Amanda walks into the living room.
