I'm gonna go into their individual stories rq

When Hummingkit was born her parents were really young, like 20ish moons each. Her and her sister Pantherkit were an accident litter that their mother, Maplestorm, wasn't very fond of. Completely opposite to their mother, their father Eagleheart absolutly adored his two daughters and spent as much time with them as possible. Maplestorm was angered by this, these two kits who she never even wanted was taking up all her mate's time now and left practically no time for the two of them together. Because of this, as soon as Maplestorm recovered from birth she started sneaking out on patrols and leaving her kits alone in the nursey. This went on for about 2 moons when Eagleheart found out what she was doing, and was enraged. They had a huge fight which led to Maplestorm breaking up with Eagleheart and disowning her two kits, when they were around 4 moons old.

Growing up, Hummingpaw was apprenticed to the Clan's suspicious deputy Foxfang. Both them and their sister was aware that Maplestorm was their mother and wanted nothing to do with the. Pantherpaw hated her mother for neglecting and then abandoning her, so she chose to be a med cat apprentice so she wouldn't have to be forced tp go on patrols with her mother. Hummingpaw on the other hand wanted to prove herself to Maplestorm, to prove to her that she was wrong in leaving her family. With the combination of her mentor's cruel training techniques, and her insistence to prove herself to her mother, Hummingpaw found herself being overworked and exhausted constantly. At one point in their late apprenticeship, there was a battle between their Clan [EmberClan] and the neighboring Clan. [SplashClan] Foxfang made Hummingpaw fight a much larger and old warrior from SplashClan, which led to her getting blinded in one eye. Both Eagleheart and Pantherpaw were upset at Foxfang for pushing her so far in battle, and Pantherpaw especially was furious at Maplestorm, for not even asking if Hummingpaw was okay. The leader of EmberClan, who is an old tom named Stalkstar, demotes Foxfang from deputy position and make the younger, and more nervous, Astersmoke the new deputy, who is also Hummingpaw's new mentor.

Time skip a moon later, and Hummingpaw finds Foxfang standing over Stalkstar's dead body as he was calmly talking to a terrified Astersmoke. Hummingpaw, shocked, stays and eavesdrops on the two cat's conversation. Though they can't hear what they're saying very well, she can pick up the aggressive tone in Foxfang's voice. As Foxfang starts walking closer to Astersmoke with his claws unsheathed, Hummingpaw knew she had to do something. So as Foxfang lunges at Astersmoke, Hummingpaw jumps out of the bushes and attacks him. With the help of Astersmoke, the two are able to drive out Foxfang once and for all. After Foxfang is gone, Astersmoke breaks down. They explained to Hummingpaw that Stalkstar was on his last life when he appointed them, and now that he was dead meant that Astersmoke would have to become Asterstar. The two cats drag Stalkstar's body back to camp, and explained what happened with Foxfang. Most cats were skeptical, but accepted Asterstar as their leader either way. As a thank you, Asterstar gave Hummingpaw their name early, stating their name would now be Hummingbird.

Since the deputy slot in the Clan was empty, Asterstar decided that Crowface, the daughter of Foxfang, would take over. Crowface was still angry at the exile of her father, but accepted her position. Unknown to everyone else in the Clan, Crowface was in a Half-Caln relationship with a tom from GroveClan, named Badgersong. Crowface eventually became pregnant, which terrified her. She immediately told Badgersong, and the two discussed their options. After a lot of bickering, the two realized that neither of them were willing to leave their Clan for the other, so decided to break off their relationship. They both agreed to take one of the kits back home with them, depending on how many kits they have. A few days before she gave birth, Crowface fled Clan territory to birth her kits in unknown territory, with the help of Badgersong. They had two kits, who they named Hivekit and Vixenkit. Badgersong took Vixenkit back to GroveClan, where he made up a lie that Vixenkit's mother was a loner and not another Clan cat. Annoyed, GroveClan accepted Vixenkit, and one of the nursery queen nursed her. Crowface took Hivekit with her, starting to feel guilty about the whole situation. She too told her Clan that Hivekit's father was a loner, hoping that Asterstar would keep her as deputy. EmberClan is a generally more accepting Clan than GroveClan, so Crowface kept her position and Hivekit was able to live with his mom in the Clan.

Even with Crowface as his only parent, Hivekit found himself alone in the nursery most of the time since his mom was so busy with her duties as deputy. A lot of cats gave Crowface crap about not looking after her kit properly, especially Pantherpoppy. [Hummingbird's sister, if you forgot] Hummingbird noticed how the kit would just sit alone in the nursery, watching everyone in the camp while she tried to put some attention on herself. Hummingbird saw themselves in the small kit, mewing outside their den for their mother's attention, to no avail. Sure, their circumstances were different but she could still empathize with Hivekit. Hummingbird started hanging out with Hivekit when she had time off, telling him stories, playing games with him, anything to keep him company. When it was around the time for Hivekit's apprentice ceremony, Hummingbird asked Asterstar if she could mentor her personally. Asterstar agreed, and Hivepaw was now officially Hummingbird's apprentice. The two have been having tons of fun while training, and Hivepaw sees Hummingbird as her cool older sister.
