Amazing close up Lisa! Can't believe how similar they are to the Emerald Tree Boa. Did you get this close or is this cropped? I can almost feel it.

LOL *Adds Lisa to the list of names I've been called* $ewm told me what you said and it happens to all of us, so don't worry about it. About this shot, this is the full frame, no cropping. I was really close, maybe about 2 feet or less, shot through glass. Sorry it took so long to reply, I have a very sick dog and I had to admit her to a hospital in Indianapolis yesterday. Hopefully we will get to pick her up Wednesday or Thursday.

Thanks Macky, glad you liked it. So, how have you been lately? I've been pretty busy. My job just eats up all my time and with +ewm 's class schedule, I don't get much sleep. I'll be glad when this semester is over and frees up some time. I don't know if you saw her journal, but we are getting a puppy in 5 weeks. We are so excited we can hardly contain ourselves. I hope she is a good model because she is going to be so darn cute!!

My pleasure Judy, also busy with no time for photography  and autumn or fall is 'knocking on our door.'

I still have a project to complete which envolves shooting an entire arachnid collection for a zoologist here in Cape Town, will have to make time for that soon.

I will pop into +ewm s journal this weekend to see what all the excitement is about re: puppy

Enjoy your weekend, don't work toooo hard and be well my dear friend................

Wow, that sounds like a very interesting project. Are they alive or mounted? I bet you have some very interesting specimens over there. So, you will have to tell me what your fall and winters are like. Does it get very cold? During the winters I think our average temp is somewhere between 20 and 30F. Although we had many nights and even a couple days below 0F this year. Brrrrrr........ I'm glad spring is finally here, time to start looking out for flowers. I'm trying to enjoy my weekend, but I've got lots to do. I usually try to get my "spring" cleaning done during the winter so when the weather gets nice I can be outside taking pictures instead of inside cleaning. A lot of it didn't get done because of my neck surgery and all. Plus, now I have to puppy proof the house. LOL Hope you have a great weekend as well.

Yes Judy, they're a live collection. We down here in Cape Town live in a Mediterranean Climate, summer temps range between 77 and 100F sometimes touching 104F+. Our autumns are very pleasant with nice comfortable temps averaging 71F. Winter temps range between 46 and 60F with our rainfall in winter, which makes our summers quite hot and dry. As far as spiders go, they're not as big and colourful as those found in tropical regions but nevertheless the collection covers specimens from all climatic regions.
I cannot imagine what it must be like experiencing temps that you do. Must be like walking into a deepfreeze when you leave your home in winter How's the neck doing post surgery? I'll drop you a note with link to tourism in and around Cape Town. Everthing of the very best to you and your family (and that includes the pup). Take lots of spring photographs and be well dear friend.........
(Hope my Celsius conversions are correct )

Pretty creepy looking (and I'm not afraid of snakes at all, but still), especially since it's such a close crop. Great colors and overall a great shot.
