Description Team Lilac is here to save the day!

Yeah you saw it right: this time I decided to give Source Filmmaker another go. But instead of making animations, I now use it to make pictures (which it can do while not mainly designed for that). Honestly making animations isn't my cup of tea, those who have been following me since the early days knows what I'm talking about. Anyway, my first real SFM image submission isn't suprisingly TF2, MLP or even Worms related, but instead it's related to this one indie game title you may or may not heard before: Freedom Planet.

The Freedom Planet models have been existing on SFM's Workshop for a quite while right now, and while there have been said that the Gmod ports were expecting to arrive "soon", unfortunately they didn't. The person who volunteered to make those Gmod ports either procrastinated too much, or was busy with other things. Whatever the reason is, the Gmod ports, either way, were ceased to arrive in a moment of me writing this all down in here. So instead of having to twiddle my thumbs and play some games to pass my time, I then finally said myself "screw this", and fired up Source Filmmaker just to give these models a go. My first impressions were, that these models looked just great of how I expected them to be. Yeah this is how I would imagine Lilac, Carol and Milla to look like in 3D. My only nitpick goes for the face posing part: instead of flex sliders or something like that, you have to manipulate different face bones in order to make faces you want. It's actually really tricky than it sounds. Also these models could use some more face posing options, while Lilac and Carol did got small update on that part, Milla however remained unchanged. Other than that these models are decent, and they're great additions to the ever growing Source world. I'm still hoping for those Gmod ports to come someday.

Now just because I've made pic in SFM, doesn't mean that I've left the Gmod. I still prefer Garry's Mod over SFM anyday. I just felt like of making something in SFM for a change, that's all. Expect more to come in few days though, 'cause that's what I'm about to do right now.

Excuse me Mr TBWinger. To be fair, I am a very big fan of your work so....is it alright if I could make a gmod fan picture for you with my inkling character and maybe some others just in case?

Weird place to ask for something like that, but sure, I wouldn't mind that.

okay. and i know it's weird, but i just thought maybe it'd be something i would like to do. though the only problem i have is that i can't find a hat that looks like your worm's hat. and i think that might be hard to find or something

Okay. And also, what’s a wormsona? Is that like a Worms oc Character? Cause I actually have a wormsona myself.

Any idea of how to obtain these models for blender?

You're asking from the wrong guy, I have no experiences whatsoever of 3D modelling. You should contact the author of these models instead.

Wow, that looks awesome. Β I love Freedom Planet, and I can hardly wait until its sequel comes out. Β I know I'll have to wait another year for that, but I'm not complaining. Β I'd rather have a quality game than one that's rushed to market just to make fans happy anyday.

Ironically, the guy who volunteered to port them also contacted me to work together on Niobroc's Lilac model.

Last I heard he wanted to do an experiment to get her into source. The Experiment never happened.
However, My experiment has gone through. Currently testing bone limits.

Glaber In reply to TBWinger92 [2016-02-13 20:37:56 +0000 UTC]

she will take a while to get into Gmod as I will have to delete several bones. I just found out the bone limit for gmod is 128 and she currently has 214.

Lilac will also need some other optimizations done as well.

I honestly don't care if you start using SFM. It's practically the same thing. Actually, I would actually venture to say that SFM is actually better! Though it's definitely requires more of a high-end computer to run smoothly and it's a little...well... harder and more advance to use than Gmod.

But that may be because I have so much practice with Gmod. Β And I guess I'm content enough with using that primitive software.

Yeah, still wish these models would appear in Gmod. I haven't gotten the hang of using SFM.
