This one's more doodling, but I wanted to do some fan art of Kiara and her new friend and future advisor Makini. Maybe I'm on a minority but I like her, I find the idea of Rafiki teaching an apprentice a neat idea and it's not like Makini is some ditzy airheaded fast-talker, she does listen to what others tell her and she does have some good ideas...she just has to learn to hush up some times XDI tried drawing her grown up as best I could ;w; but then Rafiki isn't gone, but I think the ceremony to celebrate the birth of Kiara's cubs would be her job by then, marking the name of the future queen on Asha's head and presenting the cubs to the pride lands and all

I actually do like Makini too. I mean I can see where she can get on people's nerves but she's cute and has her usefulness. Bunga not so much...

My guess is that's the change that happens in mandrills when they get older. Kind of like how more blue markings appear.
