Thank you, Gene!
These are an interesting choice of words for me. It is true of my creative process, whether for work or personal exploration, that unless I get provoked nothing of much interest ever transpires.
What you describe may certainly be an enigma but I must pull your sleeve to the assertion of this being solely "your" case.
What you describe are transformative relationships which are essential to any brave wild-hearted soul interested in personal growth. All transformative relationships are characterized by trust, for one can not be bound, physically or emotionally in a healthy manner when trust is absent.
Trust must be tested and can only be verified when all parties within a relationship are defenseless .. yet secure in the knowledge that neither will take advantage or cause needless pain. Only upon such a ground can understanding of ourselves and others unfold into meaningful realizations.
When each participant in a relational dynamic can risk, explore, stumble and even fall .. then there is no pretense, no façade. All aspects of each individual in such a relationship are invited and welcome, not just agreed-upon behaviors. Here love is more important than romance; acceptance more important than approval.
When partners can leave behind the old conditioning of competition, when they can truly co-operate, then they/we become more than "two" .. we become something authentically transcendant. A transformative relationship is a shared journey toward meaning within which we dare and challenge each other and we derive vibrant pleasure from our capacity to surprise one another.
Because there is continuous change within such a relationship, there is never a state of taking or being taken for granted. Each is awake to the other. Transformative relationships are always fresh and new for they are an ongoing experiment, freely becoming whatever it will. The actual transformation, which often transpires within states of solitude, is catalyzed in the heart of your perplexing enigma: the authentic security which comes only after we have given up our dependence upon absolute certainty.
And here you have done it again, Brother .. sent me off down another avenue of existential wanderings.
It's a strange and funny place for it .. isn't it? But, why not!?

Pleasing Nature with our heart's desire.
What else is there worth doing .. when the result smiles back at us?

That's a damned good saying. Love powers alot of things, Wether it be hatred, passion, or any other emotion. My farther always said that ''if you accept pain, it hurts. If you accept pain in the inside, it will make you stronger''
