Description
Snowflakes were falling on the window, dotting white spots on glass. Emile kept staring at the window in amazement; it is only a few times he could see frozen rain. Luckily it's falling gently on the sidewalks and roads.
"Emile can you help me?" Jon called him, he sounded as he struggled. Jon wore his blue jacket over an even darker blue shirt. He carried a giant cardboard box on both his arms "God this is heavy."
"Your decorating now, the day before Christmas comes!"
"Just help me put it on the floor," Emile rushed over through the small hallway to help his friend. Both carried one side of the box, Emile walked backwards slowly matching his footsteps with Jon's.
"Here?"
"Yeah here." Both men set the box on the wooden floor.
"What kind of decorations do you have in there?"
"Nothing much just for the inside."
"Time to decorate!” Emile jumped for joy.
"My god can you ever be quiet?"
"I'm not loud, just super hyper!"
"Calm down, I'll get the Pikmin toy."Emile paused for a moment to begin sitting in the corner with purple aura surrounding him.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Dark clouds surrounded the whole airplane as if being swallowed up. The glasses wearing black haired man was scared for his life. He
absolutely had the biggest fear of the sky, except in games he was fine with that.
"Calm down, Lewis we're almost in Canada," Duncan patted his back.
"Why do have to spend with Chris's house?" Lewis asked.
"Because he has to visit his mother, it would be horrible if Chris just leaves his mother just to party with us," Duncan explained. His
voice made Lewis calmer thinking that Duncan was his angel.
"Thanks." Lewis's eyes began to droop a little the longer he kept staring at the window. Duncan glanced for a bit to see his friend
asleep; his face smashed against the glass. Duncan giggled a little inside as he positioned Lewis's head on his lap for him to sleep.
+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
"Hi honey, I'm home!" Tim busted through the door.
"Thanks Tim, how in the hell did you find a tree, I barely saw anyone selling trees?" Jon asked.
"It wasn't easy," Tim replied as wiped off some pine needles off him. He looked around to see many gold and red streamers around,
lights making the same pattern as the hallway arch, and the chairs arranged neatly to make a lot of space.
"You guys did a great job with the decorations," Tim looking around in awe.
"We sure did."
"I heard from the neighbor that her son is inviting his friends over from England." Jon said.
"Wonder who can make the loudest party?" Emile joked.
"Might be us, I mean Tyler and Josh are coming, Donna and Lucah are definitely coming, sadly though Jake is staying with Patrick at his
house to take care of him so those two aren't coming."
"Man if Tyler's coming were all screwed," Emile said.
"Oh my god," both men sighed to the horrible pun.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
"Lew...is...wakey... wakey sleepy head!" a voice called him. Lewis's eye lids fluttered to see Paul and Simon.
"Hey, man your awake, took you long enough," Simon said.
"How long was I sleeping?" Lewis asked softly.
"About, the whole flight, Duncan's outside carrying yours and his bags," Paul replied.
"Wow that must have taken him ages to carry all that stuff."
"He's fine, now come on Chris is coming to pick us up."
The three began to rush through the plane into the building into the front where Duncan stood waving.
"Took you guys long enough," he laughed.
"Sorry, but I'm a heavy sleeper."
"That's fine, at least I can watch the snow more," Duncan smiled as he watched the little white snowflakes fell from the dark clouds. He
tried catching some on his black gloves, but they would only melt.
"I think that's Chris's car!" Paul pointed, directly ahead was a black van.
"I think your right, hurry and wave!" The black van pulled over right in front of them, its wind shield wipers on, along with the shining
light which looked more like yellow glowing circles.
"Coming?" Chris rolled the window down to see his friends.
"Yeah we're sort of freezing," Lewis said as he crossed his arms for warmth.
"Don't worry just put your bags in the back and we'll get to the house in no time."
+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
"Tim, can you pick up Josh and the others at the airport?" Jon asked him.
"No problem, I'm going there now."
"Okay, see you later," Jon said.
"Bye."
Tim closed the door; the snow began to fall more snowflakes than earlier.
"Hey how do you know about the party next door?"
"Oh the nice woman that lives there is so nice, sometimes she would give me some tea and she'd tell me stories of her son."
"Who's her son?"
"She never did tell me."
"Aw... I'm so curious."
"Sorry, Emile."
"No problem, I was just asking, lighten up." Suddenly a car noise was heard from outside the house.
"What was that?"
"Must be the neighbors’, that is one annoying car."
"I'm going to head to town, Jon."
"What are you going to do?"
"Nothing much just walk," Emile said anxiously. He shuffled his feet to the door. Trying to open the door with his gloves they kept failing to grab.
"See you later."
"Yeah... Uh bye!" Emile left abruptly. The door shut with a loud bang, leaving Jon with a question.
"What's up with him?"
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Chris turned his key to unlock his mahogany door with a little squeak it opened. The whole living shined with colorful lights, all the
furniture covered in lace, a little rocking chair next to a couch, a circle carpet with a bell pattern covered parts of the wooden floor, and a
tall dark haired woman came into the room. She seemed to touch everything in her sight or at least try, she came up to Chris and touched his chest.
"Oh Chrisy, dear you're here oh and you brought your little friends." She said as she inspected the others; she came up to Lewis first
"What an adorable young man, reminds me of little Chrisy when he was a boy." Lewis cocked his head in confusion. Him young, he was older than both Simon and Duncan. She next came up to Simon "What a very muscular man you are, just be careful with the china," she began to laugh. Simon maybe strong, but he did not think he could knock off shelves. Paul was next, she squinted a bit to try to recognize him "What a very beautiful girl Chrisy has, how come he hasn't told me anything about you?" Paul stood shocked as the others laughed at him. He was glad Chris was upstairs.
"Hey it's not funny!" Paul told them. She lastly came up to Duncan.
"Wow, you look like a hero from one of Chrisy's games!" She was in awe by the blurry appearance. Duncan wondered, he didn't like any
gaming hero, he didn't even think he looked like Link.
"Hey guys did you like meeting my mother..." Chris came down the stairs to notice her not wearing her glasses "Mom where's your
glasses?"
"I think I left them in the kitchen, maybe that's why it's blurry."
"Don't worry I'll get them." Chris began walking through a little corridor to find the glasses on the counter. Picking them up, he saw
Simon, Lewis, and Duncan giggling in a little group while Paul pouted.
"Thank you, Chrisy."
"I told you not to call me that." The woman began to adjust the glasses, blinking a few times her vision cleared.
"Oh, you boys look like nothing I described."
"This is Simon, Lewis, Duncan, and Paul."
"Oh my goodness, I'm so sorry Paul, calling you girl is such a big mistake," her voice became high and began to what looks liked begging
for hi forgiveness.
"That's okay," Paul said as he patted her on the back. Lewis turned to Chris and whispered:
"I'm going to town okay, I'll be back as soon as I can."
"Okay, later." Lewis quietly left trying not to slam the door.
+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
Emile kept walking slower and slower as he got closer and closer to the city. Strangely, he could not see anyone in sight, as if the
people abandoned the town itself. He tried to walk faster, but the cold winds made his feet slow as a turtle. Suddenly, a tap on the
shoulder was felt.
"Ah!" Emile screamed.
"Oh goodness, I'm sorry." Emile glanced to see a man wearing a bright red scarf and a thin black jacket.
"Sorry, man, but you scared the hell out of me."
"I'm sorry, do you know where the town is?"
"Yeah just follow me!" Emile felt so energetic; he began to run a little.
"Wait up!"
"By the way what's your name?" Emile tried talking while jogging.
"Lewis, yours," the man tried his best to keep up.
"Emile."
"Awesome can we stop running?" Lewis asked. Emile began to screech to a halt leaving a little trail of concrete shown from the stop.
"Just like Sonic."
"Yeah, you’re a fast runner."
"Wait, you know who Sonic is?"
"Yeah, haven't played Adventure in years."
"Really, same here."
"Gamer, huh?"
"Yeah, you?"
"Yeah!"
"Oh my god!"
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The two chatted as they walked; they became instant friends.
"Hey, can I tell you something?" Emile began to say.
"Yeah."
"I'm going to town because I forgot to buy a present for my... friend yeah."
"Same here."
"Who are buying for?"
"One of my friends named Duncan."
"My friend is named Jon, he isn't really a friend." Emile suddenly clapped his hand over his mouth.
"What do you mean?"
"I mean, I like him a lot, you know in that way." Emile began to blush in embarrassment. He never told anyone else about his
relationship. The snow winds began to pick up a little.
"Look, Emile don't worry, I'm not awkward about it one bit." They both began to go into a store, GameStop to be exact. They both did
not notice that only a worker was there. Emile stopped for a moment to look around.
"Hey there are usually a lot of people at this time."
"What do you mean; there's only us and that guy?"
"Usually when I got to this store in particular, I see huge lines."
"That's weird." Emile glanced at some games, but none of them looked good for Jon. Lewis began questioning the worker.
"Hi, um where are the people, aren't there usually a lot?" Lewis asked. The man stood silent as if he hadn't heard a word "Hey!"
"I'm... sorry... why do you ask?" the worker asked.
"Look I just want to know!"
"I'm not sure?" the cloaked worker murmured.
"What?"
"I have to go out back!"
"Wait!" it was too late, the person left without another word.
"We have to go somewhere else Lewis, there isn't anything good."
"Psst..." it came from the back "Come here."
Both men shrugged and did as instructed. The room filled with a wide collection of decorations.
"Hey, why didn't you answer my questions?"
"Are you looking for something good boys?"
"Yeah, it's a present!"
"Sorry nothing for you here!"
"Why not?" Lewis became frustrated.
"Because I said so, you broke in when the sign said closed, idiots!"
"Fine, fine sorry for intruding."
Both left with depressing looks on their faces. Again, the wind began to pick up. As they passed by each store, all of them were closed.
Every door either had closed on plastic, neon, and even one on a small table. Both became doubtful of whether or not they could even find
a present.
+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
"I wanted to finish what I wanted to say earlier." Emile said.
"About the whole more than a friend?"
"Yeah, Me and him have been lovers for a long time, also why aren't you awkward by it?"
"Because..." Lewis had tears drip down on his scarf. The two were under a shining street lamp, as Lewis tried to explain, "I like a guy
too."
"Oh who, is it Duncan?" Emile asked. Lewis had more tears fall onto the freezing ground.
"I hid my love for so long!" he yelled. Emile patted his back as they walked backwards to home.
"Don't cry."
"But I'm f***ing sad."
"Don't cry." Emile's voice felt like Duncan's in the plane; many visions came back of the blonde man, he stopped having a river from his
eyes. They both kept walking as the dimmed light of the sun began to disappear. In a little alley way, a girl sat curled up having her head
on her knees. She was dressed in a black coat with her hood on to cover her eyes, her black hair was peeking out. Next to her was another
little girl, but instead she had brown hair and a pink coat. They both looked poor and crying. One patted the black coat wearing girl gently.
Then, she became instantly happy as if she forgot about everything.
“I feel so happy just looking at them.”
“Why?” Emile asked.
"They don't have anything and look at them."
"I sort of get it." Lewis thought for a moment what he, himself said. Whenever he was near Duncan, he seemed to be smiling at him. Remembering that joy of
that, made his face glow with pink as a cherry blossom.
"Hey Lewis?"
"Huh, oh sorry."
"No, no it's fine I wanted to ask, why do you like him?"
"Well, why do you like, Jon?" Lewis asked back.
"Hard to say, really we argue a lot, but I like him for who he is, a good looking, heart warming person."
"Duncan is serious, quiet kind of guy, but he's a great person to talk to." Little streams came down his face again instead out of joy, saying those words made his heart burst into confetti.
"Hey wanna know something?" Emile said as he broke the mini silence.
"Yeah?"
"I don't know why, but I'm so in love with red-heads it's just strange that Jon isn't one and I love him though."
"Your heart just tells you." Emile really did not understand, as if by feeling he could sense Jon's presence right next to him. The warm
feeling swelled to the point where he would just shout who he liked.
"I wish we could get something for them."
"I wish too, but every store is closed and it's getting dark." Emile sat on the sidewalk as he cried "Jon will hate me!" he yelled.
"No he won't he'll understand somehow."
"No he won't, he won't love me anymore!"
"Love never ends, he will love forever even if you don't get him a present."
As he patted Emile's back, he noticed the other man had his tears dammed by the kindness. An idea popped, instantly into the man.
"What is it?"
"I'm his present."
"What?"
"I'm the Christmas present he needs!"
"What are you talking about?"
"Like you and Jon, you are the Christmas present too."
"Oh I get it!" As if by timing the winds picked up to even recognize it as a snow storm.
"Oh god no, we got to get home!"
"Let's get running!" Their feet began to lift and stamp the ground to the way home.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
"The wind is so strong!"
"I know!" Lewis grabbed Emile's arm while his other tried shielded his eyes. Their pacing became slower as the wind howled at the two.
They could see light; square lights to be exact.
"I can see it!" Lewis filled with joy "Emile? Emile!" He saw him, his eyes closed shut; he had fainted from the cold "No Emile, I'm getting
you home to your love!" "Stay alive, you bastard!"
"Get up!" No answer. In a glimpse, Lewis saw two round lights heading towards them. For a split second, he thought of an image of his love. He kept walking, stamping the ground endlessly. He carried Emile in his arms. The lights came closer as if someone came for help.
"Lewis! Lewis!" a familiar voice called.
"Emile! Emile!" another called.
"I... think... that's them!" the yell felt like a whisper as the wind screeched like a forgotten spirit.
Frost covered his glasses as he fell to his knees, he tried crawling his way. He could see the square lights on the ground now. All he could think about was getting Emile back even if he himself died. Holding Emile's arm tight, he dragged the young man. The circles became as if they were stars.
"I'm sorry, Emile, I guess you never got a present for Jon after all," Lewis's final words were. He lay next to Emile, his eyes closed like a
vault; he got a glimpse though of some mysterious light. All was dark like a fireplace after being put out.
"I'm sorry Duncan for not helping you." Lewis thought.
+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
He felt something hot on his face strangely, sort of felt like water. As he forced his eyes to open, he could see a blonde with dark
sunglasses hugging him.
"Hey, you're awake!"
"Huh," Lewis felt horrible in his head. Duncan still had his arms wrapped around him like a ribbon on a gift "Where are we?"
"You're so silly Lewis, we're in Chris's house," Duncan said.
"Jesus, you had us worry!" Simon said. They were all in the living room again, Lewis being on the couch.
"Also, you should thank Emile or else we would never have found you!" Paul added.
"What happened!?"
"Why don't you let Chuggaaconroy tell you?" Emile came through the small corridor to see Lewis on the couch as the other Let's player
came. Jon, Tim, Josh, Tyler, Lucah and Donna came out with Emile.
"Xephos you looked like a total wreck out there!" Emile began.
"You're Chuggaa!"
"Yeah, you didn't notice my voice?"
"Not really, so did you notice I was Xephos?"
"Of course I did, I always call people by their real name," Emile had a warm smile as he talked.
"What happened, how did they find us?"
"It was easy, Tim and Simon came with their flashlights, they said they found us fainted on the ground," he said "I woke up instantly
outside, but you seemed as if you were going to die!"
"Then, all by myself I had to drag you to the house," "And you've been sleeping for two hours."
"Wow!" Lewis could not take in all the info at once.
"Duncan got worried a lot, he didn't want to leave you." Duncan gave a nod to his friend. Lewis felt different inside, he had that warm
feeling again, but this time it was a sensational feeling that wanted to burst. His face began to redden again, his body trembled, he
sweated a little, breathing deeply as he examined Duncan. Gladly, no one was watching them, everyone was playing video games upstairs.
All was peaceful, they could only hear yelling, but it was more like the sound of bells from a distance.
"I'm sorry, Lewis for hugging for a long time," Duncan said.
"No it's okay, I actually like it," Lewis smiled more as he sat up.
"Um... I wanted to say something earlier when we were in the plane." Duncan was interrupted suddenly by a kiss on his lips. Lewis held
Duncan's shoulders tightly as they kissed. Their lips connected like puzzle pieces, they never wanted to end. Releasing for air, both turned
away, only giving each other slight glances. Staring at Jon comforted Emile, they both sat in a hidden room he had found just now.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
"I'm sorry, Jon."
"For what?"
"I didn't get you anything," Emile sighed.
"Didn't get me anything, that doesn't matter."
"Instead," Emile continued.
"Instead?" Jon was curious on what he meant. With a little tug of the shirt, Emile pulled Jon for a kiss on the cheek.
"Surprised?" Emile said softly. Jon sighed bearing a smile on his face. It seemed more like on purpose then an accident like months ago.
"Thank you, that's the best present you ever gave me," Jon blushed, putting his hand over his own chest he could tell his heart beating
with absolute happiness. The polo wearing man tilted his head, laughing to himself "What's so funny?"
"Oh nothing," Emile replied, he giggled again.
"Your giggle face is so adorable."
"I knew you would always fall for it." Jon turned away blushing mad.
"I told you to never bring that up!" He scolded his friend while the other man kept poking him on his cheeks.
"Do you want to go see the others?"
"Yes!" Emile with his energetic self said loudly, it almost made Jon's ears deaf for a minute. Emile ran out of the room in a blinding speed
leaving Jon by himself. Face palming himself, Jon followed Emile. The snow winds have finally stopped. No more howling of the snowing
death. Snowflakes falling gently on the roof as the new friends partied. Many people dotted the sidewalks, all bundled up in coats, mittens,
and hats. They were heading straight to the city like they were driven by it.
+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
"Want to know something?" Duncan said to Lewis.
"What?"
"The whether people said there wouldn't be snow today."
"That's strange."
"I'm glad you're alive," Duncan got up from the couch.
"That's sweet," Lewis began walking to the stairs "I'm a little sad."
"Oh, why?"
"It's nothing, just we're leaving so soon."
"Don't cry we'll see them again," That voice, that quiet voice came again. No tears fell this time.
"I won't." Both kept climbing the stairs to where everyone else is. Both men met up with Jon and Emile at the top of the stairs.
"Chuggaa, I mean Emile I wanted to thank you."
"What the rescue? No problem!" Emile smiled back at him "Thanks for helping me without you Jon would have never gotten a present."
"You're welcome."
"You two looked adorable next to each other," Jon teased. All of them laughed at the joke.
"There's one thing that I wanted to do, but first we have to get outside," Emile said.
"Okay?" the others wondered what Emile's plan was as they all headed out the door with their mittens, hats, and earmuffs. Opening the
door to the frozen wonderland, Jon was face shot by Emile with snowball!
"Canada is so much fun," Emile mocked. The snow melted on Jon's face as he raged.
"I'm going to shove so much snow down your pants!"
"Try to catch me, then!" the other man teased.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
As Jon and Emile ran around the house, Duncan tried making a snowman with Lewis.
"We have to make the bottom bigger."
"Look it's fine," Lewis was proud of the huge snowball he made.
"It won't support well."
"Yes it will, we have to make the torso."
Duncan sighed as he kept rolling up the ball. After the head and the body was made, it kept leaning little by little to the left.
"What do you want to decorate it with?"
"A hat and some earmuffs."
"We could also put pine cones for eyes."
Lewis took off his hat while Duncan removed his earmuffs, putting it on the snowman in the right position. Picking two pine cones on the
sidewalk, Lewis rushed over and put them on the head.
"It needs something else," Lewis pondered.
"What about a mouth?"
"I know," Lewis poked a small hole at the head giving it an "o" shape.
"Perfect."
"I love it a lot."
"Like me?"
"Yes," Lewis said softly. The moonlight shined over the two British men like a white lamp. Pressing a kiss once more, both wrapped their
arms around each other for warmth.
*******************************************************************************************************
As our feet crush the snow
You see our hands held tight high in the air.
As the moon shined on us like a spotlight
We waltz with a one-two.
As we kept boxing
No one stared at us.
As we looked deeply in each other's eyes
We leaned closer.
As our lips touched
Warm air connects in a minute released.
As one whispered
Feeling like the May breeze.
As the other talked
It sounded like an angel.
As we danced
We were being watched.
As being seen by friends
They trade glances.
As the new friends came by
They sat crossed leg on blanket.
As they saw us
They smile to themselves.
As we took each step
We called it our Winter Dance.
"Merry Christmas," Emile whispered to the sky.
