I think it could work excellently, though possibly you could also give the lines a little more weight where is appropriate, like the way you did to the underside of Nestle and the sofa. Use that technique more liberally. That way you can make the scene naturally stand out without the use of shading.

looks great! i think it'd work wonders for a graphic novel.
i think for a novel, though, it could use just a liiittle bit of shading. that way, the foreground would be easily distinguishable from the background, and the shapes/forms would be more distinct.

Oh haha, yeah there will be coloring and shading, don't worry. I'd be a fool to not use one of my strengths for it. X) This is specifically talking about the linework. I think it looks good, and doing it in this style would save a ton of time on inking. I'd get the graphic novel done probably 30-40% faster.
