This is extra disturbing because lobotomy used to try to "fix" people who were mentally ill but it made things much worse. Sherlock is most likely Autistic and some people even think he's a psychopath and a freak so it's possible some twisted person tried to change and wanted toΒ destroy his mind. They were basically trying to punish and torture him for being different.

I like to remain optimistic about my survival chances. It's better than curling up in a corner assuming the fetal position. In the case of the zombie apocalypse, I'd immediately get myself a machete (for when I get caught up with) and a gun (for when I know better than to turn my back in the first place). Next would be a pair of awesome steampunky goggles so that all the goo from the aforementioned machete action doesn't get into my eyes. Nasty. Oh yes, I have an entire zombie apocalypse wardrobe planned for chances of optimum survival and comfort.
