Dear Dad,

It's been a while since your funeral. I know we didn't always see eye to eye. Even after mom passed away when I was still in elementary school. I noticed you became more stricter after that and tried to toughen me up for the real world. Even signed me up for wrestling like your dad did and his dad before. Wrestling was a big part of our history. I'd remember you always telling me "Men don't cry", "Men don't show emotion. It shows weakness" but I know you just didn't want me to get hurt. Your strict teachings even put a physical scar on my face in the form of this scowl I always bare.

I remember when I was looking for my homeroom class and stumbled upon the drama club. They were in the middle of rehearsal. It was amazing. The costumes, roles and lines. Art at it's finest. Because of how big and clumsy I was, I stumbled in and got caught spying. At first they were intimidated but we worked out any misunderstandings. They offered me a role since I happen to fit the costume. The other person wasn't too happy with the role and quit the club and I can see why. It was the role for the villain of the play. I was skeptical at first but was reassured as I secretly went to rehearsal before and after wrestling practice. I knew you wouldn't approve so I kind of kept it from you. Sorry dad.

The play released and it was a success. It was nice. The adoration. The idea of being someone else. I liked it. Then after high school, you got sick Just like mom did and eventually...It's crazy. When we were spending your last moments together, you looked so distant. As if you wanted to tell me something. Eyes filled with so much regret. You did your best dad. That's all that mattered and I'll always be grateful. I've been trying to look for a new place now. A friend of mine recommended a place called "Harthaven". He said his dad wanted to set up a pro wrestling scene but never had the time or budget for it. He said it would be a good fit for my background. Sounds like fun and a lot of hard work. I wonder if you would've approved. Anyway, I've decided it was time to move. There's nothing left for me here. Too many old memories. I want to find where I'd fit in this world. Why not start hear. I'm heading there by plane. I want to get an early start. Going to be staying at an inn until I can get my own place. Thanks for everything dad.
