When I watched some Simpsons future-episodes, I realized one thing: Bart is usually a stupid jobless slacker in them. But why? Yes, I know that he is not very good at school, but he will probably get better later. He will study at university, get a diploma and find a job which he will like.Bart is not stupid and everybody knows it... so why does he always have roles as a slacker in these episodes?

Bart is such a genius that maybe school bores him and he becomes delinquent? Maybe. XD He has more common sense than book sense, so I think he could potentially do well in life. What is he... like ten on the show? He's a lot smarter than most ten year-olds I've seen.

Maybe Bart is just too lazy to study. In one episode he studied all the night and then got an A from the test.

the reason Bart is always cast as the looser slacker is because that's the life his family expects him to have just like his father and his father before him; its' the cycle that the perfectionism, abouse, and sexual favoritism that men in his family suffer from.this what Barts' future would be like if he was given better encouragement by his Parents and teachers,and if marge did the right thing and left homer.

That's what I call a psychological look at the Simpson family. You are right about them, but it is still a comedy. And if the viewers want to have fun, there always must be a troublemaker like Bart and a fool like Homer there. In real life, however, their family probably won't be funny at all.

Is he smart? Yes, yes he is.
Is he a naughty kid? That's the problem, if he becomes rich and famous in the future, who used to offend "The Simpsons" will have a chance to against it.
I know he is a kid so when he gets older, he may change. But Simpson kids never grow up, well, gradually.
Btw, I don't hate Bart , it's just my opinion.

Maybe when he becomes a teen, his mind will change completely. He will start thinking about future and this could lead him to study harder and try to get to a good university. Who knows, perhaps he will be even better than Lisa!
