Description Hypnotic, orange glow upon
his face,
appearing like a pumpkin
with its eyes scooped out
and the once full insides
cleansed until hollow.

a weak breeze made its presence known,
pushing the massive amounts of objects
that were once trees into a whirlwind
of word.

\'summer, rain, thunderstorm,\' he thought.
He had always persisted on the molded sand
to be left open, as to be completely
and utterly able to listen to each
drop of crystalline water, to each
melody of thunder, to view each
strike of electric ugliness splattering
its concrete presence unto the dark grey
skyyy for approval.

Chalk and chess pieces littered
the boy\'s \"abode\" as the heaving
rain unleashed its witheld breath like
a rockslide. He managed to smile,
the wax torching itself for his selfish
pleasure directly in front of him,
a sigh directly behind; a deep
persistent, yet quiet, sigh.

:

the apples and oranges fell, as did
the electricity, the rockslide had
continued with the force of a thousand
asteroids on the last day,
smirking like the cheshire Cat.

The boy moved his knight carelessly and
took the white queen.
The candle elucidated
no light, yet the cogs
remained in tune.

(Lets see you defeat me now.)

Once again, the sigh.
But this time, relief.
Leaves forced themselves into the quarters.
The window broke up with itself.
As the heavens descended,
The locusts swarmed fiercely,
The warheads saw their sanguine end.

(Would I be wrong?)

The wind blew.

(Correct me, will you?)

The rain ignited.

(I always seem to be wrong.)

that first line comparing someone to a pumpkin really drew me in. i've never seen an approach like that before. lovely imagery. "the apples and oranges fell...smirking like the cheshire Cat." - that whole stanza left me flabbergasted. amazing piece.

Absolutely beautiful. ...Vivid visuals, concrete and elusive at the same time... great job.
