My art project! t's finally finished
Well, kinda. Imma get my paints out some time this week and do some touching up, but besides that...TA DAA!I really wanted to use Ink to do this, but our art teacher insisted we use acrylic paint.
I went for an Asian theme, this happens to be stuck somewhere between Chinese and Japanese
Oh well...I also wanted it to be dreamy, romantic and slightly abstract.
This is why i chose her to be crying (you cant see the tears very well on this photo), and have her hair transforming into Cherry Tree branches with the falling blossom...
I lost alot of quality in this photo. The actual painting is pretty big, so i couldnt scan it...
Anyway, hope you like it!

This is done with acrylic paint?! Oh my gosh, it's so well done, I thought it was watercolor! Very nice shading and I love how the hair looks like branches. The moon is awesome and the eyes and- let me stop. It's all just awesome.

Yes, it's acrylic! But the canvas was slightly waxy and I used a lot of water
Yeah, I wanted her hair to transform into cherry blossom branches ^^ I hope I pulled it off ok!

Absolutely beautiful. I love how you captured the traditional style and color and mixed it with a flair of modern, as with the manga eyes and facial features. I can imagine what this might look like in ink, and given you were constrained to acrylic, I believe you did an outstanding job giving a similar result. Not quite, but close enough. Great job!

Yes, the fact my art teacher made us use acrylic was kinda of a pain. But then again, the effect it had when used on a slightly oily canvas was rather charming; it made little speckles where the water and oil didn't mix.
Ink would have been good, but I have no experience with it what so ever and I don't think it would have worked well on the particular canvas, now i come to think of it...I would like to try it out in the future though
