interesting, what lens do you use? the other deviation looks somewhat like what i got from reverse mounting the lens onto my slr.

this is the lens that came with the camera, 18-55mm. what do you mean by reverse mounting?

It means that you mount the lens in the reverse direction, i.e. the front element is near the sensor. Typically, thsi would require a reverse mount ring. The lens effective behaves like a x:1 macro, where x>1. :-D In layman terms, you get super magnification.
