one thing I maybe thought with your drawings is that the eyes always look a tad plain (not meant rudely.) just sometimes look too outstanding to the rest of the kitty. maybe try adding details to the eyes? like with blue, its not a solid blue. you have might blue, green, darker blues and so fourth. I just noticed on some the drawings just look a little plain maybe. and another thing is eye shadows. on the reference the inner corner of the eye has a shadow. on yours there is no shadow, its just plain. the highlight is good, but you also maybe need shading to make it look a bit more realistic?
oh and I'm not sure what you use, i think sai? using the blending tool does wonders for eyes. if thats adding colour detail or highlight/shadows. sometimes if I have blue I'll add blotches of green and blend the edges and then turn down the layer opacity. or if I highlight (white dot thingis) i blend the edges. same for a shadow.
maybe just a thought ^-^

And actually, I use FireAlpaca. I do use different shades in the eyes, but sometimes it doesn't turn out looking like I had planned haha. But I think that putting different colors might help; thank you for that tip!
Yeah, the shading and highlights are always my struggles haha. But I'll get better!

of course!! i think personally it looks even better now! the eyes look way less like they're googly or stuck on <3
on fire alapaca you have a Gaussian blur, you can use that for shadows/eye colour. it can help make it look so much less blocky and more flowing. just a preference though, maybe have a play around with what you like.
if you wanted when I'm not being lazy as heck, I could put something together to show you eyes n stuff and how I personally do them maybe. it may help you. oh, and maybe paws d: im not great but maybe we can work on that together hah

And sure! That would be fantastic. Front view on the paws always turns out bad whenever sketch them, but sometimes they turn out okay; I guess it depends on how much effort I put into it haha.Ā
