This is an extended trailer for an illustrated book series called An Army of Frogs, otherwise known as Kulipari . I had the privilege to be Art & Animation Director for it.

also I like the way you made kulipari eyes even more 'zoned' than they try to make them look in the actual cartoon.

I like this trailer a while ago.
But I only started looking at the series on Netflix like... last week, because I was looking through the options and found it and thought "Oh, let's give this a try' and liked it.

Did netflix end up buying the rights to this? I saw that it was available on netflix and thought "wasnt there an animation of this on dA?"
Needless to say, I watched an episode. The story is awesome... but I just cant get over the animation. It looks... idk. I guess I was just expecting the animation to be more like this... or at least less... eh.

The Netflix series was started based on some of the designs that Secret Sauce and I came up with. We had nothing to do with the episodic animation, unfortunately. Just the trailer as you see here.
All I can say is that I was aware of the series from the beginning. One of the pluses of the Netflix series, at least, is that there are some big voice actors in it.
Outside of that it is what it is.

Can I just say--the animation in this trailer is a thousand times more appealing than the animation in the show? Maybe I'm just not one for Flash animation, but this is really incredible and I wish the whole show could have been animated like this.

The Netflix series is what it is at this point. My only involvement was knowing about it back when I was working on this trailer.
The voice acting and story are a definite plus for the series, at the very least.

I remember watching this years ago and today I logged into Netflix and this series was the first to pop up. I immediately thought, army of frogs? Didn't I see an awesome animation that had the same name on Deviantart? And here I am! It's so cool that this has an animated series now, it's great to be able to see things progress!

This was wonderful!! Truly great and worth all the effort, if you don't mind me asking, could you tell me a little about after effects? I'm a beginner animator and I use Flash CS6 but I'm aware it's hard -if not impossible- to properly animate effects such as zoom in-out, camera angles and other things in flash, after effects lets you do this right away, right? Sorry, I don't know much about the software.
Also, how much time did this take to make???

Right from the get go, but to be specific, when the cloaked frog came in, an at the part with the meditating tortoise where he beamed off the top of the mountain
coupled with the music and then the massive avalanche. The rain segment was very nicely done as well.

There wasn't any one sound pack that went into making this. It was a combination of recorded and pre-recorded effects.
Unfortunately, it's not something that I can share freely. Though it's quite the compliment that you asked.

This is Fantastic.
I love the use of desert creatures to match the setting.
The animation is fluid and crisp and the color use is well themed (consistent and balanced).
I can't wait to see more.
