AAT & GMD 25th AnniversaryThis year marks the 25th anniversary of two of the most awesome animated films......The Great Mouse Detective & An American Tail. So heres my tribute to both movies. If you've never watched these movies, I encourage you to do so

I love the background idea, how two different worlds meet each other. The light effects are great and go great with the environment.
I personally like more characters from The Great Mouse Detective you drawn in this picture, every character looks perfect. Unfortunately, as a big fan of An American Tail franchise, I think you rushed to draw every An American Tail character compared to GMD characters. Since both 'The Great Mouse Detective' and 'An American Tail' have 2 things in common; their 25th Anniversary and their films were released on the same year, 1986, but not Distributed by the same studios, those mice looked great together.

Haven't seen either in years, but GMD is the very first film that Ron Clemets and John Musker worked on, whom would later direct The Little Mermaid, Aladdin, Hercules and The Princess & The Frog.

While the original Fievel x Olivia picture may be my favorite of your pieces, I think that this one's your best. ^^ You really did an amazing job on this one. It looked amazing then and it sure as hell looks amazing now. While everyone else was scrambling around trying to do one anniversary picture or the other, you were the only one to do both in one. To this day I still believe you truly deserved to win that contest. No matter what some butthurt egotist says. If there would ever be any kind of flaw to point out in my eyes, it'd be removing that stamp on the bottom right... This is your masterpiece.

The events take place roughly 10 years apart of eachother. Β AAT took place in the year 1885 whilst TGMD was 1895.

I came from a time where cartoons like this still existed, and I was fortunate enough to have both of these film be a part of my childhood. I wouldn't have thought to put them together like this, nor was I aware that they both shared an anniversary...that just makes this picture even better!
