I was wondering why I couldn't find an amv for Gurren Lagann with the song 'Cartoon Heroes...' so I made my own. IN COMIC FORM! Cause why not?

Touching the Untouchable, Breaking the Unbreakable, rah rah it's Gurren Lagann! It's The most beautiful apology note ever written for Evangelion; we you're fans accept your apology Gainax. Your not forgiven though. Just saying.

From the very beginning of Gurren Lagann, we came in for a ride that we could not anticipate. Gah!

Some know him as more than just a man. A titan among men, champion of the badasses, he's Kamina! He lives in an underground village wherein they live out a meager existence. While Kamina believes strongly that there is a much wider world, a man's world, right above their village, his chief refuses to believe such a concept. Why change the norm? I mean living underground, digging tunnels, what more is there to life?

Well epic manliness, sunglasses, and mechs for starters!

On a deeper level, it's a story of youthful rebellion. The older generation has made up stifling rules, rules that lead to a very literal daily grind. Digging to make a bigger home... fun. Kamina will have none of that. His brash and arrogance challenges society to change and he will do it if he has to pierce the skies.

Kamina's drive and ambition is to a degree a compensation. He had been taken to the surface before by his father, but he had been too afraid to go. In the present, he looks to bring others under him, to have others believe in him and more importantly to watch his back. And well, his foil, Simon comes into play.

Simon, the little downer that he is, is not afraid to admit his fears and his own insignificance. He accompanies Kamina on his quest to Valhalla, er... the surface. In many cases, Simon is the more calm of the two. To paraphrase Kamina, Simon is the reason he himself is still alive.

Hot chick McDon'tkissme aka Yoko is a sniper from a nearby village is the ultimate instigator of the story. It is her battle with a giant mech that proves Kamina right. While she is supposedly 14 years old *cough* *cough* *wheeze* I'll believe that, sure! She forms a love triange with the duo protagonists. Together, these three form team Gurren and travel the surface to discover their world. Shrouding the horizon, their oppressors seek to crush them and provide an impossible wall for them to penetrate. But you all know what I said about the impossible and these ragtag reckless fellows. Gurren Lagann. If you haven't seen it. Go for it!

On that note, this comic was going to have more panels, but I feel burnt out. If you guys want, I can work to get the last of the panels inserted in, otherwise I'll consider it completed. Also, I could go further into analysis of the series here.
