Cell - Core, Extreme Evolution
Bio:
Created by Dr. Gero to be a replacement to the numerically named Artificial Humans, but the project was taking too long to come to fruition. Cell's development was turned over to a computer and Gero continued work on his previous models. Around 20 years later, Cell takes his first steps into the world destroyed by Gero's other creations. Despite an extensive search of the planet, the monster is unable to find 17 or 18, two models he was designed to merge with in order to transform into his perfect form. Cell discovers that Trunks managed to defeat the robots and steals his time machine in order to come to the past and absorb the twins. This trip to AGE 767 ended in disaster for him. Despite managing to absorb #17 & # 18 and complete his evolution, this newfound power proved inferior to that of Son Gohan’s hidden potential…
Having researched the history of Goku and the others who defeated her brother Dabra, the demon scientist Towa arrives on Earth in AGE 990. She scours the planet for the sites of Dr. Gero’s old laboratories and uses the information she gathers to conduct research on creating Artificial Humans utilizing biotechnology. The first subject of her research: Cell.
Towa travels back to the moment of Cell’s defeat and collects his core before it can be completely eradicated by Son Gohan’s Kamehameha. She returns to AGE 990 and begins her research on it. The damage done is quite extensive, rendering Cell unable to regenerate himself like before. The demon takes the opportunity to use the core to conduct experiments on not only reversing the damage done, but how tweaking the structure affects the organism as a whole. Unfortunately, this renders Cell’s development basically back to the starting phases. It might take decades to see the results.
Towa travels to AGE 1000 to check on Cell’s development, but progress has been quite slow. She disguises herself as an Earthling scientist named Phare in a plot to gather more energy for Cell. Using her new appearance, she tricks a scumbag of a pirate captain named Bacterian into helping her gather the energy to speed up Cell’s growth in exchange for allowing him to use Gero’s old lab as a headquarters for his crew, as well as some of the remaining technology. The captain agrees. Believing the energy gathered is used to keep the lab’s unique equipment powered. He spends the next six months collecting energy from poor unsuspecting souls during his raids, and Cell’s development hastens as a result.
The Artificial Human quickly grows into quite the abomination and regains his consciousness within his chamber. Confused and enraged over his situation, Cell breaks free and rampages throughout the lab before fleeing. He hides himself away, deep within the cave system in which the lab was built. Hoping the reclaiming his former power and beyond might allow him to reclaim his previous visage, Cell impatiently spawns a group of offspring resembling his original pupae form. The creatures terrorize the pirates first, before moving onto the island mainland to gather as much energy as possible for their father. Tales of the beasts’ attacks spread and many heroic warriors make the journey out of the desire to defeat them. But the monstrous Cell spawns warrior offspring similar to those during the Cell Game to protect him. The defeated heroes only serve as more fuel for Cell’s rising power.
Notes:
Not a ton different here. Just took off some extra spiked bits to kind of clean the design up to be something closer to that of Toriyama's general style.
