I always imagined Melkor like that, all in black, with dark long hair and a black armor. I didn't do his helmet because I wanted to show all his face and hair.
And I would do others drawings of Sauron and Morgoth soon ^^

The first time I read Silmarillion I fall in love with him. Always my favourite, I read the Silmarillion for three times, only for Melkor, every parts and words, I know a memory all passage especially the parts about him, I laughed in a lot of parts, as I feelt sad for him in a many times, Sauron was my first, but when I know Melkor, Sauron became immediatly the second, Melkor is Melkor. Melkor is a elfic god similar to Lucifer figure ( the most powerful of angel, the fallen one ) How could you resist to his charm? Sauron is more like Loki ( master of trick, lie and illusions ) they are the same phisical aspect too, very similar, Melkor black hair, and Sauron blonde, but major near canon see red as Loki, Loki is nordic god of fire, Nordic prevalent blond or red, for me can be both too, Sauron lost later his power of change his form and aspect, Melkor before of him, Melkor has lost a lot of things, include the ability to create, ability that had the Valar. I study all part of Silmerillion, is really great fantasy, the best work of Tolkien. I want read Morgoth Ring, but I must translate...I'm Italian. Recently, I'm not drawing Tolkien things, so I'm bit sad, I did a lot of illustrations, my Melkor illustrations are old, and not good enough as your. I promes to myself that I will redraw better Melkor and Sauron, especialy my favourite and personally most beloved character Melkor. Tolkien describe him alwayse as a dark presence, so dark, I'm feel sorry for others representations, but Tolkien speak clear, Dark, Black hair are canon, Melkor is absolutely sexy black hair, and the majority of fandom speak clear too. so very good job!
