Description
Tonight they needed to leave. There was no if's, what's, how's or why's about it. They just needed to get out.
Blake would be one of the first to admit that their current lifestyle was fun, she enjoyed stealing from banks at night and robbing from billionaire storage facilities and pawning off jewels for hard cash. She even at times did vigilante justice where the police failed, scarring off those that tried to hurt others. But they couldn't stay any longer.
They had an offer to join the otherside over a year ago during the whole Reach scenario, she could only hope that they accepted her and Aiden now, after over a year of enjoying their powers and doing unsavory, not 'heroic' things.
"Do you think he'll come for us?" Aiden asked quietly, hugging the dog shadow monster in her lap, "do you think he'll go after Uncle Dickie? Or Corvo?"
Blake frowned, packing the last of their stuff into the duffel bag. They couldn't take much, they needed to travel light until they found someone from the Justice League or the covert team that they could talk too. She didn't know if the other Runaways were into the hero business now either, from what she heard they had passed on it, but they could also just have to keep their mouths shut. "They can handle themselves, it's us I'm worried about."
Their Uncle Richard wouldn't approve, he was currently out on an assignment while they packed, they'd promised they would chat once he got back home. Corvo on the other hand, they hadn't talked to in about a week. He was like an honorary older brother to them, he was Blake's best friend. He was off on a long job or something, she wasn't able to get in contact with him and wasn't about to push her luck and risk his position. "We can't stay with Uncle though, not while he's working for Luthor." Luthor was dangerous, he took a kid's arm and stole five years of his life, he didn't do anything to better anyone but himself and his own agenda, and they couldn't work or ally with someone like him.
Blake hefted the duffel over her arm and looked towards her sister, who looked worried and concerned, far off from the chaotic grin that she had gained from her time hanging out with Killjoy or other unsavoury types in the criminal markets. "C'mon, it's time to go."
