Description ello everyone

I went to the local nature reserve to take some photos again earlier this week, conditions where not ideal, slightly overcast... As i arrived, i saw on the other side of a duck pond this Peacock showing off its little erotic display... (il use the word erotic in the keywords to attract the young teenagers ) raced over, dodging the slippery duck poop and managed to get a couple of shots off. This is the only one of a fair few that turned out as it was more concerned with attracting a partner then posing for my camera. I am still not 100% happy with it as it is not in complete focus from using a low aperture, i was trying to get fast shutter speeds... you can blame lazy me for not bringing a tripod... it was in the car.

One thing i like about this photo is that there is no real focal point. Most photos there will be a main subject, something that will draw your eye to a particular place, however wherever you look in this photo, another big blue spot is in the corner of your eye to distract you...

Anyway, i hope you like it

Wow nice shot, I like how the peacock is not quite in the center at the bottom. Although I wish it was in focus, perhaps its not because you used f4.2 and focused on the tail? Maybe focus on the peacock and use f8 next time...

You can buy them. They are usually over a hundred, and that's depending on where you live. I currently have two males, and one female. They are so beautiful.

Very nice! This was taken at Blackbutt wasn't it? Some great shots in there, it's especially good if you can get one of the wombats to chase a ranger (I've seen it happen!). Anyway, I think the photo turned out really well...

It was indeed taken at blackbutt. hehe the wombats where pacing up and down the fence line as a kid was on the other side... just out of reach

nice picture
i know how hard peacocks are to photograph
i managed to spend a lot of time photographing them and using them for my coursework at school
you can see one of them in my prints

and i agree with the no focal point part, makes it an intriguing photograph
