Sedna is another one of my sim characters I have affectionately turned into an OC as well. ^^ I made her the day Island Paradise came out and quickly made her a mermaid as soon as possible. She is the prettiest sim I have made to date!
I tried to make her look sweet and doll-like, but with a water nymph flare to her as well. Her "gator clip" friends are actually baby alligators who have been abandoned by their mothers in the mirky waters she frequents to discover lost treasures, but instead she comes home with a bunch of little friends. The alligators live in her water-tousled hair that she has no time to care for as she is always out on her next crazy adventure in the flick of a shark's tail. The alligators, desperate to keep in Sedna's company as she swims at break-neck speeds, have grown accustomed to latching onto her locks, often creating chic hairstyles for her. When not looking for long forgotten pirate plunder, Sedna and friends live in her house boat that has a small cut-out in the floor so that she has a safe place to keep her friends, findings, and be able to offer the occasional visitor a place to sit while not having to worry about the perils of dehydration.

OMG I love the story behind Sedna and her little friends! What a creative description!
Do the alligators have names? :3 Also, "Sedna and the Gator Clips" sounds like a band name. Super cool. xD

I have not really pondered names much as she has so many baby gator friends and the amount I will draw her with very per picture, but I think over time there will be given names to a few of them. :3 The whole idea behind her having a bunch of alligators as friends came to me one day as I was getting my hair cut. I asked my hair stylist "Wouldn't it be cute if alligator clips were shaped like little alligator heads instead?" I think she said something along the line of it being impractical or giggled at my childish enlightenment. Either way. The idea stuck and it eventually intertwined with Sedna's story.
After I uploaded it I thought the exact same thing! XD I am glad I am not the only one who thinks this~

The poor girl is the only one I go to! She gets to hear me talk my silly thoughts all the time~I got the title "edgiest haircut I have ever given" by her as well! XD

I asked my Japanese hairstylist for an "inverted bob" once... it was intense. xD In broken English, he kept giggling at my "punk" request, haha!

I had no idea that is what that hairstyle is called! I always called it the "swoopy haircut!" XD I have gotten to the point I keep my hair really short. I kind of have a side shave, but my head is not bare on the side that is supposed to be shaven and then I keep the other side longer so I can put crazy, voluminous spikes in it. Your hairstylist sounds precious! I can just picture him talking and cutting away and ah!!! >w<
