Description I've had this one in mind for a while. After planning to redo the Radiator Springs crew last year, I knew I'd have to make a point of doing some new stuff with some more of the Cars and Planes casts. I knew I wanted to do something with the spies, since I doodled them a lot in Christmas-y garb back in 2011. But where to begin? Aside from a few gift wrap designs and a Pixar company Christmas card, there weren't nearly as many promotional Christmas designs for the Cars 2 characters as their were for the Radiator Springs townies. Also I haven't humanized these guys in years, and my human-drawing skills have improved a lot, so there was a lot of new stuff and ideas to sort through. Finn was the easiest; one of his holiday designs, I believe, had him wrapped in ribbon, and the other had him painted with candy cane stripes, so I decided to combine them and wrap Finn up for Christmas! And that became the entire theme of the drawing from there, giving Holley the scissors and a tape dispenser wristband and Siddeley the roll of wrapping paper! I had fun figuring out their new winter styles as well. I looked a lot of jackets on Belk's website to get some ideas. Finn has a double-breasted wool coat worn over his usual light blue suit. For Holley, I'd designed her a wintry ensemble years ago, but I knew I needed to do something new and significantly better than the simple turtleneck I'd given her. It can be challenging trying to find the best color scheme that fits the human outfit and has variety but doesn't deviate from the original character. In the Pixar Christmas card, Holley had a pair of earmuffs, and I was determined to find a way to include that this time in a way that wouldn't resemble Sally's too much. It worked rather perfectly making the gloves and muffs match, this way it looked cohesive and not too too unusual with the rest of the outfit. Gosh anyone else really want that coat?? And then there's Siddeley, who I've only humanized in doodles a couple of times, mostly because it's been tricky finding the perfect human form for him. But five years of human practice really really made a difference on this one. I absolutely love how he turned out! His hair is so perfect I'm honestly amazed I drew it... short hair on guys has always been kind of difficult for me to draw believably, but this turned out fantastic. Gave him an athletic-looking jacket, his gold shades, and an elf hat because it's ironic XD So yeah it's really amazing how good this turned out overall. The shading's not my best ever, but as a whole this turned out really great and was a lot of fun to do. Plus, it's good practice for next year, which I guarantee there'll be a whole whole lot of Cars fanart...

Reminder: please be kind in the comments. I don't wish to hear any negative thoughts on the films, the characters, my humanizations of them, or anything else.

Siddeley, Finn McMissile, and Holley Shiftwell belong to Disney/Pixar. Their humanized designs and this drawing belong to me.

Usually I'm not a fan of humanized designs because they're not immediately recognizable as their 'normal' selves... but here... HERE they look like who they're supposed to be and I LOVE THAT!
Fantastic job with that... you got their personalities in their faces perfectly too.  I love Finn's 'whatever' look, too.  XD
