Interestingly, in 2005, Douglas released a plush named Puzzle . She was smaller than Patches and had gold eyes instead of green, but their Calico spot patterns are pretty much identical.

Does your Patches have string whiskers? Does the 25in include the tail? I'm (not so) patiently waiting for a possible "Patches" to come in the mail. I compared the eBay listing to yours and the spots and shape seemed to match well so I went ahead and bought the plush. But as i'm looking over again I noticed it has string whiskers, and I've only seen Douglas cats with plastic whiskers. I don't think it could be Puzzle because I've only seen her with the ruff scratchy fur and the updated one that's lying forward.

Mine has no whiskers at all! My guess is that she's a later version of Patches. I did see a version of Patches on eBay some time ago with the same string whiskers as the cat you bought though!

I'm 99% sure the cat you found is Patches. Puzzle has gold eyes and Patches has yellow green. The eyes of the cat in your eBay link looks like it has yellow green eyes.

Unfortunately, I don't have Puzzle in my collection, nor have I ever seen her in person so I am unable to make an accurate comparison for you.

From pictures, it's easy to confuse Patches and Puzzle unless the seller shows a picture of the seam tag (and hang tag if it's present). At first I thought this one was just a particularly nice looking Puzzle, then I saw the picture of her old style seam tag from the late 1990s and got really excited!
There's actually another Patches on eBay currently. It's an older version of Patches with shading around the pink plastic nose and thread whiskers. Sadly, it is in pretty rough condition.

Oh yeah I didnt know that was patches o. O cause I've only seen puzzles but I just thought that was a really old version of puzzles and I saw that one

They can be confusing. I just realized, aside from the seam tags, a quick easy way of telling them apart is their eyes! Patches has the yellow-green eyes and Puzzle has the orangey gold eyes.
