Description This was the second in my Sushi Series. It's a watercolour, 9" by 12", and now resides in a happy home. I've enjoyed painting this series, and really ought to get back to it once I've got a bit of time.

As you can see by the full-view, I've taken to adding the big ugly watermark to my images. Last week I discovered one of my works on another website with my signature removed with a Paint programme, and they were claiming the work as their own! Although it really ruins the image, I do recommend the watermark feature as a preventive measure.

Wow! Thanks very much! I was wondering why my new sushi wasn't getting any attention, so I really appreciate you passing it along!
I'm a Norwegian, but I have a lot of Japanese people in my family. It's kind of a cool mix - we like to think we have a kind of Viking-Ninja thing going on.

I've managed to avoid the watermark thing so far, but theft of artwork online does seem to be getting much more prevalent now unfortunately.

I love this series, so unusual (yeah, I'm a flower painter )

Thanks very much! Yeah, I've had a few things "borrowed" - I even found someone selling prints of my work once. It's very frustrating indeed.

To be honest, I wish I could paint flowers. I just don't have the eye for it, I guess!

I guess it eventually happens to just about everybody, but the watermark feature is a pretty good deterrent. Being a lawyer and sending them a "It has come to our attention" letter helps.

It's really sad to know what art thieves are doing.And believe me, I do have plenty of journal entries complaining about art thieves.Yeah, I have to agree on putting watermarks too, I'm practicing that on my newer stuffs. :/

Ah.And Sushi, you've made me missed eating them!
Just looking at your sushi painting has made me hungry! XD

Smart move! I've had a couple of complaints about the watermarks, but I think most peopel understand why they're on there.
Thank you very much! I really like sushi, and there's a good sushi restaurant in town - I just can't afford to eat there very often!

hey, what a pitty, in full view the water mark is destroing the picture!
in small view, i dont see it!
your piece is done beautiful, and i like that you was using this subject...that its not so traditional....

Well, it's gotten to the point that I just have to use the watermark, I'm afraid. I've had some work taken from this site and seen it on other pages, so I have to protect the images.
With this series, I really thought a still life would be nice, but I wanted it to be different from the still lifes you usually see...

Watermark or not, you can still appreciate the beauty of this piece and as always...I really want sushi now because of this

Thanks! Yeah, the prints do pretty well; Sushi 1 and Sushi 2 both wound up in the same home, so before I return to that city again, I'll have to make sure I paint a few more! With the commission schedule the way it is, it's hard to find the time. (But I'm not complaining. )

Thank you very much! I'm a big fan of sushi as well. I'd sure like to know who came up with the idea! - "Okay, let's wrap seaweed around rice and slap a piece of raw fish on top! A taste sensation!"

Oh, dear! I'm afraid it would be rather dry and chewy! Watercolour paper just doesn't taste all that good.

Thanks very much! this one's probably the least popular of my sushi paintings so far, but I was really happy with the little dab of wasabi. I'm a big sushi fan myself - it's a bit hard to come by around here, though!

He is? Does He hang out at your house? 'Cause if He does, I've always wondered what He likes to eat. I've always pictured Him as a salad kind of guy, but you never know - He might eat ice cream right out of the carton and stuff.
