Description
This is coffee on watercolour paper, 9" by 12". In my classes this week, I've been teaching coffee as a paint medium and thought I'd try it out on a serious portrait. Not as easy to work with as watercolour, as you have to layer several times to get the heavier darks, but a lot of fun to work with. The Elf is one of my students, and I use her a lot as a model in portraiture.Related content

Thanks very much. I was pleasantly surprised by the colour; I'll try coffee on a few other portraits to see how different strengths and roasts create different effects.
