Rarity's hair is quite hard to apply to humans due to the way it is essentially a big curly Mohawk (you know, because she is a pony), so artists need to find a way to make it work on a human head without making it look like one. This design is a mix between my earlier attempts and the way they did it in Equestria Girls, which is surprisingly good, consider how much I don't like those designs.

Yea. Had to watch equestria girls with my kids. It was hard to watch without laughing and saying wtf through the whole thing. I'm just going to have to work on how my rarity looks when I draw human. I drew her anthro last time and I was disappointed in her hair the most.

Meh, had a look at it and it appears to be a fairly plausible hair-do on a human head. It's bordering Fluttershy's style, though, which might be what you don't like about it.
