Original character; but not one of mine! Zia Ruvia Vinalli belongs to the inestimable ~NishaKay .Cast: Zia has devised an ingenious solution to the problem of your malfunctioning squishy organs! She predicts hardly any of the replacements will explode!
(Technically it's magic, and not science. But magic involves significantly less throwing of ominous switches! And really, isn't that what any subterranean laboratory is all about?)
Miss ~NishaKay recently kicked one of life's lurking boss fights right in the teeth -- many, many, congratulations!

"Hardly any" is a wonderful turn of phrase, particularly in this context.
There is such gleeful triumph in her pose and expression as she throws the giant switch. Not by the handle, which, through leverage, is the easiest place to turn such a nefarious device, but by the bare metal immediately adjacent to the switch itself! Thus is proved her badassery, and her excitement of the moment. She has no time to spare on the workaday laziness of those ancient Greeks. She will pull the switch with a nefarious glint in her eye and with the raw power of a scientastic personality on the prowl!

I admit, she's probably grabbing it that way out of simple height restrictions. (She must have been wearing bigger shoes when she built that lever!) But I like this explanation better!

You could totally pull a switch with magic. It just has to be a MAGIC switch. I'd totally be behind any sort of spell that conjures a switch for you to pull before the actual effect of the spell occurs.

Rule of Cool dictates that even the simplest tasks must be undertaken with the throwing of an enormous switch, preferably one with lightning bolts and all sorts of warning signs.
