This took forever to finish, but it was so much fun! I wanted to make up a new creature the other day, but couldn't think of anything, so I just messed around with ideas and trusted my instincts and came up with this guy. Man, I never really drawn a ship before, it was so difficult, I had to spend hours studying them and going through concept art of ships. It's probably not perfect, but I think it's good enough.This is a ocean God, Umembi. His greatest love is for the ocean and the creatures in it, nothing else matters to him. Anyone who dares harm or pollute the ocean will surly be hunted down and killed by Umembi . He usually uses his massive, Kraken-like tentacles to bring down ships, also his spiky, sharp back, ripping the bottom of the ships into shreds. If he's really angry, however, he controls the ocean, making calm waters turn to massive, freezing, violent storms, leaving no survives. Although he sounds harsh, he's very kind to those who care and love the ocean, he blesses them with good winds in their sails, great catches when fishing, and a safe journey to their destination and back.

great creature. From the humans point of view this could very well be the Kraken, since all they are seeing is giant tentacles. I love the design and the picture is incredible. have to say though he doesn't seem like he'd be good at being...good xD

Only to those who harm the ocean. Lol, a sea God can't look like a push over, the ocean can be harsh and deadly, but it can also be beautiful, so I picture a ocean God would be like that.

Thanks! I find the best way to make your creatures look realistic is to look at real animals that sort of have the same body shape and parts and study them. I try to get as acurate as possible, it helps you improve a LOT.

I did that with a werewolf once. I thought about the structure of a wolf and put it on it's hind legs...The legs didn't work, but the face looked good

Thanks! Lol, the funny part is the ship took longer to draw then the monster, I can draw monsters in my sleep, but I never drawn a ship before, I had to look them up on the internet to study, also my dad helped me out. XD

I love seamonsters, somehow the deep blue - or more like black down there - seems the only real place with monsters, creatures rarely seen - and things weird as hell, like an ocean in an ocean X .x

I agree! I truly believe there's thousands of unknown creatures in the dark depths, maybe even sea monsters! It's possible! I mean, it wasn't that long ago people discovered that the Kraken is a real beast, the giant squids. Gah, I love the ocean and all it's beasts.

I just hope if they do discover new sea life or even sea monsters they let them be, I hate hearing on the news when scientist find giant squids and kill them to further study them or on accident, or that time they found a rare Frilled shark in Japan and they accidentally killed it by trying to keep it in a aquarium, even though they new nothing about it,just let it live in the wild! -_-
