Description So this was a commission for a coworker's cousin who is huuuuuge into Homestuck. I have never heard of Homestuck or Gamzee, so I had to do a lot of research on this one (lots of Google Image searches). But I think he came out pretty accurate, even if I am still not a fan of making "people".

I tried using yarn for the hair and brushing it out. As you can probably tell, I was too impatient to spend too much time brushing it - it's still a little wavy from being wound into yarn. But if I had spent anymore time on the hair (I probably spent 6 hours on it) I might have gone crazy!

I had fun needle felting the face, t-shirt, and pant details. I love getting those little details right!

P.S. - Don't mind his bed-head. I apparently didn't style it well enough before the photos, lol

I have absolutely no idea who this character is either, but you did a grat job ! I particularly love the horns, colors and shape. And I definitely have to learn needle felting, it's a really cool way to add detail on amis !

Oh thank you so much! Gamzee is a character from a web comic/manga... I think...? I wasn't familiar with the character either - it was a very unique commission request!
Oh you have GOT to learn needle felting! It's super easy to learn! Just grab a how-to kit from Michael's or have someone show you - you'll pick it up in no time! I love adding needle felted details. It definitely adds an extra element to the final product. ^_^

I Already tried to watch some beginner videos on YouTube but it still looks like magic to me until I try by myself I guess...

It kinda is like magic - you won't believe how easy it is until you just start to fiddle with it. If it helps, this is the needle felting pen I use (I usually take two of the three needles out when I'm working):
www.joann.com/clover-pen-style…

And if you were to do flat appliques, this is the mat I would suggest:

But when you're needle felting on top of crochet, you just put the wool roving right on top and start poking away!

The hair turned out great! For this project, the slight waviness adds character. Well done.
