every time I look at this artwork and I remember how for hours I stare at a book.. a Magritte's artbook. Surrealism is the curent I like the most... this is why I mostly compose conceptual photos.
and this is why I love your art...

i percieve the shadow to be too far away from the object , it doesn't seem high enough to have that sort of shadow distortion

Interesting.. I began to wonder what kind of "mirrors" are waiting for me, waiting for me to break. I hope there are joyful mirrors waiting for you. Though variations are good to experience and learn from.
Like someone above me wrote, it's wonderful to see an amazing picture with a lot of emotions and a story behind it, rather than just a picture for fun. It makes the picture almost living..
Great work. Take care ^_^.

MY RIDICULOUSLY LOOONG ANALYSIS :
Interestingly- when i was scanning through your gallery, this piece caught my eye, & immediatly i thought of Dali. Of course, i am a huge fan of Dali (but who isn't, right?), so i clicked on it. However, not surprisingly, your source of inspiration was Magritte- who, although quite different from Dali in terms of tone, meaning, intent, palette..., used similar imagery, and, despite his growing dislike for Surrealists, applied similar Surrealist techniques.
Your piece is similar to Magritte's "La Condition Humaine" in terms of imagery- but the deep symbolistic meaning that accompanys your piece distinguishes itself completely from a Magritte- as he hated for his work to be analyzed- he wanted it to be "looked at, not looked into". I'm loving the fact that you used Magritte truly for inspiration only, but kept with your own intentions, ideas, & themes. Instead of doing a "Magritte with your own touch", you did a "KhaoticStorm" (sorry, i dont know your name) with a touch of Magritte, which is the proper way for artists to employ the inspiration of other artists in their work, in a way that stays original & their own. Am i making sense? Sometimes i ramble bc i cant properly dictate my thoughts. Aaaah.
So. You seem to play alot with the concept of memories, especially those painful, in your work. I'm a definate fan of where your going with it.
by the way- your honesty is refreshing (esp. the fact that you are a boy!), and i think tons of people can empathize with the deep pain that comes with a breakup (esp when your not the one initiating), and will therefore connect with this piece.

Yea I can see what you're saying. I was fighting with myself when I did that, but in fact that's what makes it not awkward in the end. I tried cropping past the line so it's just the frame, but it looked like the frame wasn't hanging and isn't a part of the other 2 frames.

I know how you feel... you can't just stop loving someone even if they already have someone else by their side... when you still love that person.

Reading the story behind this piece is very, very touching man.
I too know how it feels to not be able to not get over an ex-girlfriend. It's been sometime over a year for me and mine, yet for some reason I just can't let go. Even after all the headaches and the drama, and something just wont let me let go.
As for the piece itself, I think it looks amazing. But the meaning behind it really brings it to life.
Excellent work.
