Commodore's log, October 27, 2158. We all knew this day'll come. But we were lucky. The Romulan invasion of Denobula gave us time to prepare. It's now or never. Losing this battle means certain defeat. It's us against them, at the front yard of our home. It's time to make a stand!

Commodore Archer's hastly log entry was dated fifteen minutes before the first Romulan ship dropped out of Warp near Mars. After destroying the Utopia Planitia shipbuilding facilities, the enemy proceeded toward Earth. Archer led the defence in command of Starfleet's Third Fleet. What he didn't know was that the Romulans planned a second wave of attack. Admiral Mindar, the mastermind behind the Romulan War, speculated that with the Third Fleet being tied up in battle with the main Romulan forces, the Second Fleet being away protecting the most important colonies and starbases, the remaining Earth defences would be crushed easily. Little did he know that Earth's "littoral combat" taskroce, the First Fleet, would make such a miraculous stand that it will shape the whole course of the War. Led by Captain Linus Randolph aboard Polaris, the First Fleet demolished the second Romulan taskforce utilizing the revolutionary dogfighting tactics. By the time Archer's Third Fleet has defeated the main Romulan armada, Randolph has claimed his own victory as well.
The Battle of Sol was a crushing defeat for the Romulans. They've lost their main-line battlecruisers, including all cloak-equipped variants. From that moment on, Earth was on the offensive side, pushing back the Romulans system by system. Once again, the undaunted Human race has made a stand.
