Description "...if they say I love too many,
passing the time for joy,
taking my pleasure here and there:
how should I know?
if they say I showed you
the flame hidden deeply in me
to test its force in you:
how should I know?
if they say with the common passion
that churns in young people
I need you - and with no more:
how should I know?"
~ chanson, pernette du guillet ( 1520-45?)

All painted in Photoshop... the original's 13 x 22.

The woman in this piece is absolutely beautiful. The softness of the shading in her skin, the light source, the pose and angle, and the way her hair flows out above her head. All of these elements combine together to create a wonderfully intriguing scene and the flow of hair leads the viewer to an excellent rendition of the Earth.

This one is really nice...too bad it is not traditional, would fit in that gallery I just posted about!

Heh, yeah, I pretty much converted to digital for time/ease of use reasons. I got really tired of scanning big paintings and it's a heck of a lot easier to paint light with light than with pigment, at least for me.

Yeah, one of these days, I am gonna have to try and create a digital painting from scratch...I have a pen, etc...but haven't used it like that yet.

I find it makes life waaaaay easier. But a lot of my stuff is done for clients I only see online - if you've got a lucrative business in originals, then it makes sense to stay traditional.

the hands and skintone are suberb, the world could not have been done any better. I can't hlep thinking that the arrangement of the hair someohow detracts, however and I'm not sure why...

I'd love this kind of thing done as a mural somewhere in my "dream house"

So very pretty... the red of the hair makes the blue seem almost glowing. Nice work.
