Glad to hear it!Β How are you doing with getting things ready for BC?
Even though we're not going as dealers, my son and I might pop down on Saturday...depends on if he can get off work as he has to sleep during the day and works overnight which means...
I won't be doing Shore Leave this year as a dealer (same weekend) as he has to have the vehicle to and from work and it doesn't fit the schedule.Β Oh, well...I think maybe God doesn't want me anywhere in Baltimore that week!
Just make sure that you watch the news closely.Β There is still crap going on in Baltimore, in/near and around the convention with relation to the riots and if the Grand Jury comes back with no indictments on the 6 Police Officers, then all ^)+^% is going to break loose again.Β So, please keep tabs on it and follow your gut instinct.Β BC says they have security, but they don't carry firearms as its in the Convention Manual as "firearms are prohibited".Β So what good is that kind of security in a situation like what happened.Β Anyway, be safe.

Well, at least you're 'next door' to me (State to State that is) and not across the U.S.!
Was it Harrisburg or Hershey or somewhere else in PA you said you were at.Β I'm like 45-minutes from York, PA., same for Lancaster, an hour and fifteen to Gettysburg, about the same to Hershey, where I would love to get back up there so I can go antiquing again.Β Found some really nice shops between Hershey and Lancaster.

You got it.Β
In the meantime...got any nunchuks around?Β I don't see why you couldn't put a couple of them (the wooden ones not metal) in with your plushies for self-defense as there are a lot of martial arts schools EVERYWHERE!
Just a thought LOL!

So I need an embroidery machine to use this? Or couldn't I enlarge it to hand sew it?

TheHarley In reply to LunariRyuu [2015-05-12 21:28:18 +0000 UTC]
Let me just jump in here and clarify, the pattern itself (for pieces for the head, feet, & body) is in each of the embroidery files so you DO need an embroidery machine to use this specific pattern. I haven't made the simple sewn version yet with actual pieces you can print out because this takes longer for me to do.Β
The benefit of an "in-the-hoop" pattern is that the pieces of the plushie are sewn by the machine SO they are much more durable and quicker to make (perfect for convention prep and keeping prices of the plushies lower). Now, that's only a benefit if you have an embroidery machine lol.
I do plan on making a regular sewn version (pattern)- but like I said before, it takes more time to do because I have to vector each of the pattern pieces and write out a whole new set of instructions, so I won't have it available right away. I know it sucks for those who don't have embroidery machines (having to wait), but I can make the patterns for the "in-the-hoop" ones on my computer AAAANYWHEREEEE (like at work during down time), while I have to do the sewn ones by hand.
I hope that helps clarify this!

her 'in the hoop' patterns REQUIRE an embroidery machine since it's an embroidery file that is transferred to the embroidery machine to sew the pieces

per the Etsy listing:
DESCRIPTION:
This is an "in the hoop" pattern which means it is done almost entirely in the embroidery hoop. The only thing you need to do outside the hoop is sew the tail, turn the plush right side out, stuff it, sew a small portion closed, and sew the pieces together. If you do not have an embroidery machine you can not use this pattern!Β

You could do hand-embroidery.Β I do hand-embroidery on 6" plushies, so if you don't have a machine, like me, basic hand-embroidery is easy to learn.Β

You can always take the pattern to Staples or a local copy shop and they can enlarge it for you.Β Tip: If you do use a copy shop instead of Harley enlarge it for you, make sure you cut out all of the pieces and trace them onto an 8.5 x 11 sheet of copy paper.Β That way they will fit the printer screen and then enlarge it by whatever percentage you think you need to get the size you want.Β
This is how I enlarged my pattern for 14, 18, 24 and 36" ponies.
