One of the only photos Starshine Bright has of her parents together. Her mother, Rose Gold, never got over the social stigma unicorn society gave her for marrying a bull and her depression spiral was so deep that she became an abusive and neglectful mother. Her father, Big Trouble, was a happy and jovial bull who loved to play more than rough house with anyone which led his integration into pony society to be a smooth process.

Her mother lives in Canterlot, and Starshine lives in Ponyville as does her father. She does her best to avoid her mother all together, but has a close relationship with her grandma, White Gold.
